Question for you...how/where did you sell your old wedding ring (yes I know you are not from "here" any longer? ?I have one from my first marriage and am wanting to get rid of it.

Re: *Vaaajeanna*

  • I'd first started with some local jewelers.  I'd gone to Goldsmith Silversmith years ago and custom designed my ring, so all the jewelers (with the exception of one) were like, "Nope...not mainstream enough, no one will want that".

    The other place said they would consign it, but would take over half of the sale and they also didn't see it moving too quickly.

    After a year, I decided it was time to just sell it.  I went to a local pawn shop, they looked it over, weighed it and told me what I could get for it.  I said, "I'll take it" and walked out.

    Now...I didn't get much (read:  $509 for a ring that was probably worth waaaaaaaaay more than that) but that is part of it.  I knew I'd be taking it in the shorts, but that's $509 I didn't have and that's less bad karma sitting around, stinking up my house.

  • ::butting in::

    My friend sold her e-ring to West Omaha Jewelers.  She got more out of it than she thought she would.  Just something to consider :)

  • This is good information.  As much as I love mine, I will not be able to wear it anymore and will probably have to sell it to pay for the divorce...Crying

    :(

    I'm sorry Kelley.

    If you can, use it to get something nice for yourself.
