Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

sewing machine

Anyone that sews please help me. Can you recommend a good beginners sewing machine that is not outrageously priced. I am just starting and only know the basics I just want something to pracitice on and do small things for the kids.

  • I would recommend getting a refurbished one online or just head to Goodwill, Salvation Army, or a pawn shop. You can get a really good one for fifty bucks or so that will last SO much longer than one of the cheap singer's at Wal-mart.  Good luck!

  • I like AuntB's idea. I know when I was looking it was very confusing because pretty much every lower end model has horrible reviews online. I went with a Brother CS-6000i and it has worked well so far. It might be beneficial to ask family and friends. Often people have one sitting in storage. Good luck!
