I know it will depend on the state you live in but do you have a homeowners insurance company to recommend? I just got a quote from Progressive and it doesn't seem bad price wise but what about their service? Are they quick to respond to claims? TIA
Re: Insurance?
Absolutely the BEST one around
We have them for all of our insurance needs and they have been great when we needed to use them. Clark Howard highly recommends them if you are eligible.

We are with State Farm. We tried Amica based on all the talk about their customer service being so great, but our experience was awful. It was a total bait and switch with them.
I had Travelers at my old house and they were fine until a tree fell on my house and I had to file a claim. I would stay away from them.
Unfortunately, we aren't eligible for it. We have nothing to do with the military.
We use Safeco and went through Wells Fargo. We got a really great deal for bundling our car and home and going though our bank. They also have good earthquake coverage which is important for the area we are in (Seattle). They are also local and tend to favor local clients.
