Witch Hazel help -- Spanish nesties in particular

Do you know where or how to find witch hazel over here?  Is there anything like Tucks that you know of?

I have some rotten hemorrhoids, but have been wondering about witch hazel for a while.  I've never found it here so I'm hoping someone else will have an idea for how to find it!

TIA!

  • I would check the pharmacies around your neighborhood for "agua de hamamelis" and if none of them have it, there are places, in Spain, that you can order it online.

As for the Tucks, I don't know, but if you can't find it you can order it from Amazon UK and have it shipped to you.

BFF says you could go to a herboristeria for the witch hazel to see if they have it. I am sure Madrid has plenty. She has no idea about the Tucks, as she has never experienced hemorrhoids. She was going to ask her mom. If I find out more I'll ETA.

    Good luck.

  • Thanks!  I wasn't sure of the translation, but I just looked it up online and that looks right. I'll head to an herbolario tomorrow morning and ask for that.

My mom is coming soon and will bring me some tucks if I ask her (will be good for postpartum care even if the hemorrhoids are gone) but I was just curious if anyone knew of an equivalent here.  I may just ask about that at the herbolario tomorrow as well.

  • Not sure if this will help you, but here in NZ, you can find witch hazel at the chemist.  It's OTC, it's just might not be where you expect it to be.  Witch hazel is with the skin stuff here b/c it's used as an aftershave.  No tucks here either, and I just bought it in a bottle and then used cotton pads on my hemis whilst I was pregnant.  Sorry you are in pain, I can sympathize!
  • Agua Oxigenada is hydrogen peroxide here in Peru.  Not sure if that helps or not.
