Poll: Holiday Gift (for you)

With the holidays right around the corner (what!?!?), I am wondering:

If you could ask for, and receive, any gift for yourself this year, what would it be? The only stipulations are that it can't be something for your house, or your kid, or anything like that. It has to be something JUST for you. It can be something tangible, intangible, big, small, etc.

Re: Poll: Holiday Gift (for you)

  • An e reader. Not sure what new ones will come out for christmas. But I want one with e ink, not glossy screen.

But what I know I am getting for christmas is a new microwave to put above the stove. With filters / vents.

  • A two-week, all-expenses-paid trip to somewhere awesome. Maybe Europe (Italy, Greece?) or Australia. Or Bora Bora. Or Alaska. Or back to Hawaii.

I'm really not picky on the location. :)

  • Actual gift I wish we had the money for: a super new lens for my camera

Non-gift that I'm hoping for: to not spend Christmas in the hospital

  • I feel so Holly Homemaker because I added the first gift to my list yesterday, A recipe book, like a good/cute one for family recipes that I can write down all the amazing things that are in my grandma's head before she goes (not that I plan on her going anywhere any time soon God willing.) I want it to be something that is nice enough to stand the test of time and look really "old" 100 years from now when my great-great-grandkids have microchips implanted in them to remember things for them.

ETA: It is for me because I love heritage, and having it would make me feel good, plus I could finally know how the hell to make the most amazing Goetta ever!

  • Is cooking stuff considered for the home? If not, then I would take some Wusthof knives and a bigger food processor.

Otherwise I'd gladly take some Frye boots (Melissa Button) or a DSLR.

    Happiest place on Earth!

  • An IPad or IPhone, $$ to go shopping for a new wardrobe, or a fancy shmancy camera. But, I know I am not going to get any of these things. We haven't bought each other gifts for any occasion the past couple of years so we can spend our money on the kids.
  • I would ask for a better DSLR than the outdated one that I have.  And of course a nice fancy lens included.

I did too, but love my jujubee bag! Check them out. I highly recommend a back pack style. With toys, diapers, food, snacks, cleaning disinfecting wipes etc, I end up filling it.

Those aren't bad! I will fully admit that I am a bag snob though Big Smile

  • The Canon 5D Mark II w/a telephoto lens OR a completely new (all-seasons) wardrobe.  Of course, both of these gifts would require thousands of dollars.

For real, I'm asking for some new shoes, Lightroom, and possibly the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 lens (which would probably be a one & done present).  I'd also like new carpet for our bedroom, but I'm selfish and don't want it to be considered a present, since it wouldn't be for just me.

AMEN.  haha.  I haven't carried a diaper bag for her since she was like 6 mos old :)  Snacks, wipes and a diaper go in Mommas bag.

  • A $500 gift certificate to a clothing store of my choice.

You will LOVE LR and the Tamron... it never leaves my camera.

I want an iPhone. Simple, but we don't want to pay the data fees.

  • I would pick either a vacation for 2 weeks or a new wardrobe!

I got Wusthof knives for Christmas last year and they are amazing

I want a Garmin running watch (305 or 110).  Or, a big ol' gift card to Gap/Banana/Old Navy/Athleta. Because I need new regular clothes, and I want new workout clothes, and that way I could get both.

  • Sign me up for a 2 week vacation. I would like to go to Italy and surrounding area.

    Amen to that!

Actual gift I'd like: jewelry. Something representing our growing family.

  • I really want a GPS for my car. It's ridiculously unsafe trying to read the map on my cell phone while driving. I need something that talks to me! I also want a new pair of uggs!!!! I most likely am not going to get either b/c we are planning to do a lot of house work in the up coming months, but we'll see!!
Finally a Mrs as of June 7, 2008
