Chicago GTG w/ kids
Let's do it.
The museum of science and industry is the perfect place to take our tod's. And there are so many Northern girls and kids I want to have a playdate with. (Star, Jenn, Tiff, etc.)
This is do-able for me, and I can pretty much convince DH to drive there anytime of the year as opposed to (let's say Atlanta) at a specific time of year.
What would work for the other mommas (and non momma's if they just want to hang out)

When? I have a client due on November 23 so mid-november to early-december is out for me, but other that we are open!

I work well with soon .... what about early November? 4-6 or 11-13?
Or the first weekend of January 6-7, that's not much past Christmas.

The second weekend in November would probably work better for us because we are traveling the last weekend in October for a wedding. Let me run it by DH and get back to you (assuming that works for others??)

I would love to get in on this too (and don't mind traveling), but I can't do it in November. I think my Dr would frown upon that!
Maybe we could also plan a GTG for the spring for those of us that can't do the November GTG. Something to think about.....
We can do later depending on what works for everyone. I just like the idea of meeting people NOW.
I'm with you, Amanda, I LOVE the idea of meeting people now, but, I think Spring will work better. Maybe we should plan for April or May?

With everything we've had going on with the house, there's no way I could get away with traveling (especially alone) before springtime. DH would probably be up for a weekend trip to Chicago in the spring, though. We love Chicago.

Chicago, spring, it's a date.
Plus that'd be a whole new calendar year of vacation time for us working momma's who have to schedule that kinda shiz.
And Tiff, you and me will meet up before then and I'll bring tons of Tiff + three love with me.
And Jennrs, DH and I will probably be going to Chi-town sometime in Nov/Dec/Jan to see his family for the holidays (we're kinda last minute people for that sort of thing though) if you're free.

Without a doubt we are 100% out for anything before January.
LO is due 11/1/11 so I'm glad you're now talking about spring! DH and I have always wanted to take a trip to Chicago (neither of us have been), and this would be great, if other DH's are coming. Chicago is SO much more doable than Atlanta. We'd just need to find an affordable place since I doubt we'd be sharing a room with anyone, since it would DH, LO, and myself (not that anyone would want to share with LO and myself either, who knows how she will be sleeping then).
Bonus points if we decided on a hotel before Christmas, so we could ask for a gift certificate to that hotel/chain for Christmas, which would make it MUCH more affordable.
