Re: *JusLyn*

  • I would not be very happy if we went to the SEC.  I, admittedly, don't know all the ins and outs of it all (ie money, academics, other sports, travel distances, etc), but at first glance I am not excited.

A guy at work is a FL fan and all I hear him say about us going to the SEC (and A&M), "oh that's going to be a terrible mistake.  They will just get blown out every game."  I don't agree with him.  His only thought is regarding football.  Obviously there are tons of other sports in the mix so he talks completely ignorantly and it pisses me off.  :)  I tend to just keep my opinions to myself because there is no arguing with that guy.  I know most about the football side of it as well, but I definitely don't think we would enter the conference and get blown out every conference game.  We have competed with national powerhouses Oklahoma, Texas, and Nebraska for years so I think we would be OK.

I have seen a mock split of the conference for football.  In our division would be teams like Tennessee, Vandy, Arkansas, A&M (and more, obviously).  I think we could still be competitive with those teams.

I would love to see the Big 12 stay together.  I'm not sure that will happen.  Although with the Pac 12 announces they had no plans to expand - I think the chances of the Big 12 staying together just got a bit better.

If the Big 12 is on the verge of destruction - I would rather see us go to the Big 10, personally.

That's probably way more than you wanted to hear me say, LOL.  And take what I have to say with a grain of salt.  I haven't done much research on it.  There have been so many rumors floating around that I will just take whatever happens in stride.
