QOTD: What is your favorite thing about Fall?

Re: Good morning!

  • Hello again! I have school today until 4 and I'm having lunch with DH. I surprised him at the airport last night, he wasn't expecting me to be there when he landed. He was very happy to see me :D

QOTD: In the US...Halloween candy, pumpkin flavored sweets and sweatshirts. Here... pumpkin soup?

  • Afternoon!  I had my placement test this morning at Alliance Francaise so now I'm all set to begin with that again.  While there I met a woman who has just moved into my building and is taking the same class as me.  We went for coffee after and I have another PFT.  Yay!

QOTD:  I love everything about fall.  I will miss it greatly.

  • Morning everyone.  Sadly, bosses want to talk to me at work today or tomorrow.  And have dinner tonight.  I just want to pack and get out of here!  We have to be at the airport at 10:30 am tomorrow, so I really have mentally checked out and have irrational resentment to them wanting me to do stuff this last minute (discuss a memo that we have talked about already AND I turned in Sept. 6).  Stupid, I know.

QOTD:   I like fall although I have only lived in places that had a real fall for about 7 years of my life.   I like how the weather becomes bearable, how the air is crisp, the color of the leaves (when applicable), getting to wear sweaters but not needing jackets..... and all the various pumpkin flavored things.

  • Morning. My parents just left this morning (at 4.15 so I didn?t get to say good bye properly) and DD and I are just chilling at home in our pajamas. Well actually she?s not chilling, she?s trying to walk...ugghhh. I have to go sign the papers for her to have a childcare spot starting in January, sniff, sniff.

QOTD: I loved having apple cider in the states, here it?s Federweisser (young wine) and onion tarts and lots of pumpkin soup and pie and muffins and well, anything pumpkin! Oh, and the trees turning is nice, and the mums, and other fall flowers.

  • Morning! Drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee that DH convinced them to sell us in bulk. Just hanging out with DH today and probably henna-ing my hair again this evening. Oh, and I bought a countertop thing with drawers for the bathroom so I will be organizing and cleaning the master bathroom today too. Fun fun.

QOTD: Cardigans! Boots! Cooler weather! I can't wait until this happens here in December. Well, minus the boots.

  • Morning! Today is my birthday but nothing is planned as my Dad isn't home, we'll celebrate tomorrow. I'm waiting for a call from the Vet so he can come look at Maddy.

    QOTD:  The colors.

  • Good morning!

I've been pretty busy so far today. I got to talk to my dad for an hour this morning, which was awesome, our schedules haven't meshed well lately. He is coming to visit me next week and I'm pretty excited to see him. I also got in a good workout on my bike trainer this morning, then headed to the doctor for a check up. Visiting the doctor here is always a super time consuming experience! I will work for the rest of the day, super exciting, right?

QOTD: Penn State Football! Unfortunately I won't get to see any games this year unless they make it to a bowl game, which doesn't look promising at this point.

  • Nothing much happening today...just work and the usual bits.  I need to run out and pick up my new violin book at the music store, and potentially find a new blouse to go under my suit.  Otherwise, it's my birthday!  Sigh...29...only one more year until 30!

QOTD:  I LOVE FALL!  The colors, the leaves, the weather, fall clothing, fall food...omg, I love it all!

  • Nothing too exciting over here..gonna clean the bathrooms and pick up a little bit. Might pick up some lunch with a friend in a little bit and hoping DH gets off work earlier than yesterday so we can have dinner and drinks with a friend.

QOTD: In the States - the weather changing and pumpkin spice lattes and boots....in the ME? the fact that the humidity goes away and knowing the weather will be decent for a few months :)

  • Happy birthday onesly and Mouse!

I'm feeling better than yesterday so I think I'll do minimal house maintenance (dusting, organizing) and spend the rest of the day resting...although I may have to go to the doctor's.  They called yesterday saying one of my blood tests came back weird and I have to go in to retake it so they can double check the results. :S

QOTD: Breaking out sweaters, scarves, and boots!   I am excited for some cooler weather.

  • Morning! I'm another of the 22 Sept birthday girls, so it's my birthday today. I'm relaxing at home until the afternoon, when I'm getting proper afternoon tea with two of my friends. Then DH will join us for a drink or two, and then home for dinner (which he'll make, of course 0:) ).

QOTD: Where I grew up, fall was by far my favorite season. It was back to school, which I loved, my birthday was in fall, and it meant Christmas was not too far away. It also meant that we would start using our woodburner, and that smelled fantastic and meant we'd get to do fun 'old-fashioned' things like cooking by the fire. And it was the season for the crispest air and brightest clear blue skies, of apple-picking and apple-cider, and nights in where you felt snug as a bug tucked away in your home.

Here, fall usually feels like every other season in the UK--one giant homogeneous blur of cloudy and drizzly and very occasionally sunny. And November here, *shudder*. There's so little light that I inevitably go off my rocker.

  • Good late morning ladies.  I am SO sore today from working out last night for the first time in Lord knows how long.  I have been feeling so crap about myself and I figured that now, that Jax is born and I have no excuse not to exercise, that I was going to bite the bullet and start up again.  This morning I took a look at the number on the scale and I I was horridly shocked.  I naively thought I wasn't anywhere near the number I saw.  So, I have set up a fitness profile and added a ticker here to make me accountable.  So, while I am working on that, I am slo sitting here trying to keep Jax asleep while Leo plays.  Leo is playing before school this afternoon and while he is there I have to run errands in town.

QOTD:  The weather and the colors.  Fall is my absolute fave time of the year.

I agree with all of this. There's not really much difference in seasons here and I find the whole thing depressing! I miss apple cider... a lot. And pumpkin pies... a lot.

But I love American football so that's fun and I love Thanksgiving and we still do that here so that's fun too!

Cider and pumpkin pie are two things I am really going to try and make myself sick of next week when I'm in the US.  I only hope the pumpkin pies are already out and it's not too early in the season.

  • Good afternoon!

Just got home from a 7 km run/walk and coffee with a friend. Today there was a group of firemen running too, man, it's motivating to run with a bunch of hot guys!

Tonight I'm going out for dinner and drinks with some friends to say goodbye to our friend who is going back to Melbourne.

QOTD: Nothing. I hate fall. I'm a spring and summer girl all the way.

  • Morning all!

Not much going on today.  Just trying to save ourselves and the house from "bucket head" (Delta has a plastic collar on again).   Most dogs, when wearing the collar, stop and change direction a bit when the collar hits stuff.  Not our beast.  She just keeps plowing through.

QOTD:  I loved that apple orchards and cider and crisp fall days back in the US.  Here, "Fall" means I can go outside without sweating.

Good morning INs! Happy Thursday, what are you doing today?

QOTD: What is your favorite thing about Fall?

Good morning!  Today I am working then DH and I are going to look at a couple of houses.  We're feeling out our options for a first home, so it's exciting!

QOTD: My favorite things about fall are Starbucks Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, pumpkin pie, making butternut squash soup, high boots, sweaters, the colours of the trees, dressing up DD for Halloween (and the candy!), and being able to leave the windows open during the day.  Fall is also when I begin CHRISTMAS shopping!!!!
