Mom's with crawlers

I was wondering once your LO got up on all fours and was rocking back and forth how much longer was it before they started actually crawling.  Robert has been doing this the past few days and I was wondering how long it may be until he really takes off.

  • I can't remember exactly, but I feel like Will rocked on all fours for a while before he actually started crawling.

  • Margot started rocking on all fours around 5 months, but has yet to officially crawl the proper way. She's been scooting by pushing off with her feet since almost 6 months. She'll scoot scoot scoot, get up on all fours, rock a couple times, get back on her tummy, scoot scoot scoot. She's definitely perfected the scoot though and can make it around the whole house very fast! I really need to keep an eye on her these days!

Yesterday, she pulled up into a stand against the ottoman. I have a feeling she's just going to skip crawling on her knees and go straight to standing, cruising, and then walking.

  • Yea-we started with the scooting too.  I call it the "mini leap frog."  He definitely doesn't get the whole moving his arms thing at all!
