new FB = me no likey

Just when I figure out the other new format change, there's another new format change. The censorship part of this one really annoys me - seems to be vetting for me what they think I will wnat to read about, and not letting me see all the posts from my friends.

Ugh.

  • IT SUCKS MONKEY BALLS AND IS WORTHY OF ALL CAPS.

And I am not one to get all worked up about changes like this (see Netflix melodrama post). I don't know why they think they know what we want to see better than we do. I was perfectly happy seeing everything and then hiding what I didn't like.

  • I absolutely despise it. They need to let us decide how we want to see things.

  • I haven't even had time to go in on my laptop to try to override the settings, so I'm not sure how much I'm already missing (when I skim on my phone)...

    {Pam - I'm pretty sure that was you I cut off getting onto the ramp toward the Roosevelt Bridge last night.  Sorry 'bout that.  I wanted to waive hello, but didn't want to miss the curve.}

  • after several debacles before, I'm surprised they aren't market testing their changes.
  • It's confuzzling. No likey.

  • dear FB,

you are a bunch of @sshats. cut it out!

    kisses,

me & pretty much everyone on FB

  • Ditto all of the above.  Has anyone figured out a way to change the settings so that you are seeing all of your friends' posts (preferably in chronological order, the way it used to be with the 'most recent' option)?  And I don't mean in that stupid ticker they have off to the side either...

  • it sucks. they need to hire some market research people.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • All the changes going on with FB make me want to stop using it...but it's still the best way I know to keep up with people (especially for pictures). I really need to commit to becoming more active on Google Plus, but I am trying not to be online that much at night after being on the computer all day at work.
  • Hmm... It doesn't actually bother me.  It's really similar to the gmail priority inbox setting where you preferred email goes to the top and you can look at everything else below.  I kind of like it.
  • what i really don't like is that i can see stuff about people i don't know. which means that people who don't know me, have the same option. not.cool.

  • I really dislike the "ticker" thing on the right side of the screen. What is the point of seeing status updates in TWO places - ticker and news feed? I really don't understand why anyone thought that was necessary.

First I had posted that this hasn't happened to me, but now I see what you're talking about. I just went into my privacy settings and had to reset some of them. I *know* I had it set so only friends could see my status updates, but FB has changed it to "friends of friends." WTF? I just changed it back. I don't like them changing my privacy settings without notice.

  • I think they are desparately trying to find away to curate people's content b/c so many kids have like 500+ friends.  They probably worry that people will OD and just give up.  Those of us who don't have that many friends are probably the only ones who notice (or care) that we aren't seeing everything.

Google already selects search results for you based on who/where/what you are.  It seems to be the way of the future.  A crappy way, but one that we have to live with.

This exactly. I didn't have a lot of time to mess with it this morning, but I pretty much logged in and thought, "WTF?" when I saw my home page. Changes+ early morning FB checking while still half asleep= confusion.

I agree a 100%  I look at my cousins in high school and college pages and they have 1000 or more friends.  They definitely need help.  Plus I don't see them updating as often as they used to which tells me that  their user experience might just be getting to unwieldy to manage.

  • Wow, people are quick :) Love that image... hate the new FB. I want to see stuff in chronological order... Otherwise I miss stuff thinking I already read about someone else's update. HATE THIS.

  • Hate it.  They just need to stop with these stupid changes already.  Maybe they should focus on privacy stuff instead since I feel like no matter how strict I make my settings my stuff is still accessible to people.

  • I logged in last night, clicked on a friend's picture and then the whole area turned white. I couldn't see anything no matter what I tried so I logged off. Probably won't try again for a while because it was frustrating last night. I just wanted to see a friend's new baby! :-)
