Im looking for something that will give me inspiration...has anyone seen anything or doing something fun for their hand made christmas cards this year?
ps- we dont have children, so no cards with photos I guess.
Re: Christmas card ideas?
Stand up for something you believe in.
I always do this, too. The clearance part, not the herpes part.
I also get stressed about what type of card to send. Is it more polite to send a secular card to family/friends who aren't religious? I know some people get offended when they receive overtly religious stuff, but um, it's Christmas, right? Gah. I go back and forth and usually end up sending out three different types of cards.

Are you a "sewer"? Do you embroider? If so, how about embroidered cards?

You just reminded me that I bought a ton of peacock theme ornaments last year after the holidays. I am very excited to pull those out now.
Can you do these on a machine, or does this require hand sewing?
I say send whatever kind of card you want. I'm not going to throw out a card I receive because it doesn't say "Jesus is the reason for the season." Our cards this year are more "Happy Holidays" because I found four boxes of the same card on clearance.
I've sewn right onto the card. Just make sure you have a designated needle for that purpose.

My cards are in no way religious...they usually have a bird or owl on them. And like mah said, I wouldn't be upset or offended if its religious or not. I'm not a religious person but the majority of my family is and I expect it from them. I'm more of a -being with friends and family, get together have fun, be thoughtful to others and the general "spirit"- is the reason for the season.

Squealing with jealousy!
Do you mean like a needle for specifically designed for paper? Or just not to use a needle that I then expect to use for quilting? Should I use a large needle like 18 or 19?
I also like the idea of doing paint chip cards, maybe doing a wreath, candy canes, Christmas tree, star, snowflake, etc. in this style.
Ok. Now I HAVE to get Christmas off my mind because I have a pile of Halloween fabric and costume stuff still sitting on my sewing table. Plus I need to make new wet bags, and frankly, preventing the inside of my diaper bag from becoming a swampy mess takes priority over everything else.
Thanks all for the ideas...
nursecramer- that tree you posted a pic of got me thinking, and I started searching and found this:
