I decided to start another thread for this because I can talk about Disney for forever!
Poly is SOOO pretty! You will love it! Which Christmas parties are you going to? Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? We aren't going to do that but are going to the Candlelight Processional. My friend from when I worked there sings in it every year (the choir is all cast members). It's been awhile since I've seen it so, I'm excited to be there at Christmas again!
It's always hard for me to go back as a non-cast member now though. I want to walk backstage and take the shortcuts but I can't....grrr!

Yes, we're going to the Christmas parties. I got to go last year the week before Christmas with my brother (we did a brother/sister trip after my mom died) and we also did the Candlelight Processional (dining plan) and Fantasmic! (dining plan too).
My brother and I stayed at the Poly last year and we loved it so much that I wanted to take my husband there this year. We stayed at the Contemporary in March before our cruise (also Disney) and we were in the main building with a theme park view (worth the extra money). We went back to our room to watch the fireworks from our balcony (and we didn't have to fight the crowds).
I did a tour when we were there this past summer while my husband was at his conference (Keys to the Kingdom). I really enjoyed it and I saw things you're not supposed to see or talk about (Donald was NOT ready for the parade).
We got annual passes because we were going to be there so much this year. I don't know that we're going to go yet next year but I understand that you get a discount when you renew so we may just suck it up. We will be going in 2013 so we'll so what we end up doing.
I would love to be a CM. I met a CM this past summer who told us that, after 10 years, you get a lifetime gate pass. I need that!!!!
You sure do! Every CM gets free park admission for them self no matter what job they have. Managers and up get to get other people in depending on high up there determines how many people they get in.
I still have a lot of people I know that work there so, I get in FREE
However, we bought a package this time so we are paying for it. We're doing the dining plan though and I haven't done that before. So, I'm excited about that!
I'm trying to figure out how I can work for them from home, lol!
I've never stayed at the Poly but I love going to the Luau there. I think I've pretty much stayed in most of the resorts though at this point. I can't wait to see the Gingerbread house at the GF!

I was in the luau. Granted it was in 1977 but I was in it!!!!
We love the dining plan--in fact, we do the deluxe so that we can eat at some of the signature places. I'm getting to eat at CRT right before we go to the party.
