Re: Larissa
LOL! Well, they weren't there. In hindsight, I should've known, since they're much more heavily into the Women Lawyers group than the general bar association. I recognize the value in networking (gave out a few cards) and socializing with the judges over a beer (one said it was good to see me with a beer in my hand). H&W only see the benefit in sticking with women.
Anyway, people I knew seemed happy to.see me and I got to tell them where I am. And at my table was at least one woman who's VERY big in Women Lawyers and I'm sure will report back to them.
I smiled and talked all night, looked great, kissed judges, and had a generally awesome time. And one judge who used to be on the family court and then presiding judge of the family court is now on the Appellate Division and seated in Hudson county. She insisted that next time I'm in her building I stop by so she can show me her courtroom and chambers. So I've got a.friend on the appellate division, which is freakin' awesome.
In October is the first Women Lawyers event, but it's a lunch, so I'm really hoping I can make it.
