Space bags?

Anyone here use space bags?  Can you share the good, the bad, the ugly?  We are seriously lacking storage space in this house so I just bought some of these to store some of O's old clothing.  Am I going to regret it?

Re: Space bags?

  • I like them!  I've got some pillows and sweaters stored in them now and have never had a problem.  I also used them when packing for vacation one time, which was super sweet, until it was time to pack up to go home with no access to a vacuum.  (Thinking ahead fail!)

  • Have not used them, but I think I could be persuaded to try them if they are actually as good as they sound.
  • I just got some for the first time for some of Alex's clothes. I had been using totes, but we have 10 totes in the attic of old clothes, so I was hoping to find a better solution. I don't have much to add for how it works other than putting clothes in the bag and sucking out the air worked well. They've only been in the attic for a week, so I don't know how they'll hold up. I am thinking of switching all of the totes to bags and using the totes for old toys and such instead.
  • I have a bunch of them.  They are what I use to store all of the girls clothes in the basement.  It keeps everything dry and it definitely takes up less room!  I definitely suggest them!
  • My review is mixed.

They take up less space and are helpful but the commercial is a little deceiving. They don't get that flat and air builds up over time. It's better than not using them, as they will save you space, but I wasn't all that impressed. I use what I have, but will  not be buying more.

I think they are good for short term uses. I use them when I traveled/moved. Of course when open my suitcase they were ready to pop out- but I got them everything there.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear! I seriously have like 18 totes in our cedar closet of all baby clothes. I need to make room in there b/c I'd eventually like to be able to store the rest of our baby items in there too. Plus, I could use those totes for a lot of other things!

This is what I found too. Air eventually seeped back in. Better than not using them though.

  • Thanks everyone!  Sounds like these will at least solve some of my storage issues.

Me too. I'm really not very impressed. They also can tear pretty easily if you're not careful. I actually recently switched to totes for my own clothing while I'm in maternity stuff.
