Re: Library Books now available on Kindle

  • Thanks!  Now I may finally cave and buy a Kindle.  I read way too many books to keep buying them.

  • I have a Nook and Barnes and Noble just started doing it too. I love it--there does tend to be a pretty long wait for some books, though, so if it's something that I absolutely want to read right away, I will probably still buy.
  • Thanks--you just made my whole day =)

  • Not every library is doing this. Doesn't appear that our local one is, but I'm hoping that will change.
  • Thank goodness!  I was just lamenting the other day about how the Kindle was the only device it seemed that couldn't access library e-books.

  • YAY!!!  There's only 308 people waiting for 21 kindle copies of The Help!  LOL.

I am now searching for something to read...

  • how do you know if your library is doing it?

  • If your library's ebooks are run by Overdrive, they will have Kindle books available.

My library uses Overdrive but does not have Kindle versions available yet.  According to Overdrive's website, it may take a few days for all libraries to get the Kindle editions.

  • thanks. it doesn't appear that abington is available but their website kind of sucks.

  • I just went to my library website and when I went to the digital downloads section, I saw the words "overdrive" and knew that it meant they would have kindle.  I went before and when you searched for a book, it would just bring it up in nook format or PDF.  Now it specifically says "click for kindle" or something like that.  It's weird how they choose what to buy for the kindle though.  I just searched for "Room" because I want to read that based on TracyD and my Mom's suggestion, and that's only available in audiobook download.  And I'm pretty sure that's on the bestseller list.
