I called Joann's this morning to see how much the sewing class costs. The Sewing 101: Basics is $35. She said the class description is pattern reading, sewing machine and tool basics. She said it's a VERY basic class. Do you ladies already have experience with sewing machines?
The crochet class is the same price and it's tool basics and single & double stitches.
Re: Sewing class ladies
I stopped by and grabbed the schedule and price list last night!
I have been sewing for a few years, so the intro class might be a waste of time for me. did any of the other classes sound like fun?
I might be interested in the "Wear Anywhere Skirt" class. It's on Friday Oct 7th and Friday Oct 14th from 5:30-8:30. It teaches you to use an advanced pattern and to insert a zipper! (Both things that I could do, but could definitely use some more practice at!) (Class costs $75 though)
Or I might be interested in "Slanted Pillow" which is one of the quilting classes, it shows you how to create a quilted pillow with fabrics on the bias. It's only $40 and is on Friday Oct 7th from 6-9.
And for anyone who is interested I"m pretty sure I'm going to do the Wilson Cake Decorating "Course 1 Decorating Basics". It's 4, 2 hour sessions (Thursdays in October 6:30-8:30pm) for $27 total. It teaches you how to ice and decorate cakes, cookies and cupcakes. Design star-covered cakes. Pipe ribbon roses, drop flowers, mums and other flowers, and to create shell and rosette borders. Let me know if you're interested!

Yes! The descriptions are on the sheet that I grabbed. Do you know which class you might be interested in doing?

I'm still interested in the sewing basics class... even if no one else ends up doing it, I'll probably still go.
I wish I could do the cake decorating one, but I can't commit to all the classes : ( I feel like with it being four classes, it'd be a waste to miss one.
