dumb sleeper question

Add this to my list of ridiculous baby related question

do you use fleece sleepers when its cold? We have a few and even bought 2 in NB in case it starts to get really chilly. But on Multiples today people are saying they're too hot. I remember sleeping in them as a kid!

Re: dumb sleeper question

  • I have 2 for Brynn, she hasn't worn them yet but her room gets cold in the winter. My DCP uses them for her daughter too.

  • Eli's room gets cold and we have a few, but haven't needed to wear them yet. He gets pretty hot and night, so I imagine we will stick to regular cotton. I have also been paranoid about SIDS/overheating, so I would rather him be on the cooler side anyway.

  • Obviously no actual experience here yet, but I have bought a handful of them since she's due in December.  Our upstairs can get chilly at night so I wanted to have some.  If she ends up being hot in them + swaddle, I'll stop using them.

  • Our new house has ancient windows, so I'm assuming its going to be chilly. I guess we'll see how it goes. Could always use them during the day I suppose. Baby socks are so freaking hard to keep on, even now that their little legs don't rattle around in them.
  • Most of Norah's sleepers were cotton, but we had a couple of the light fleece ones.  When Norah wore the fleece ones I didn't put her in any kind of sleep sack.

  • I use fleece footed sleepers year round.  In the summer due to the A/C and in the winter b/c it's winter and cold.  M hates being covered in her sleep a lot of the time now and will also wake up if she's too hot or too cold, so we use them year round.  She also hated being swaddled and I would just cover her with a light blanket or her comforter last year when she wasn't rolling yet in her sleep.  I also put a onesie underneath the fleece sleeper on the really cold nights.

  • I use them mostly in the winter because our house is a little drafty.  Levi also hates being covered with blankets, so we use tons of the footed fleece sleepers.
