Not crafty/creative...HELP!
DH and I decided to make birthdays the holiday where we make a gift for one another. Great idea - except I'm terrible at this kind of thing. My birthday was yesterday and he made me a shadowbox filled with some old pictures of me and a portion of scripture (Proverbs 31). I have made him a fleece tie blanket already, so I can't do that. His interests are our faith, basketball (he plays and is a Lakers fan), movies, and Nebraska Cornhusker football. I have $50 and 2 months. Help!

I think that's a great that you guys make things for each other's birthday. And the shadowbox with the carefully chosen scripture verses is so sweet!
Right now I can only think of a bookmark with some basketball related pendant on it for his Bible.
That's really cool!
I recently went to a place called "Paint with a Twist". You can google it to see if you have near you. It's $30 and you can choose a design to paint and paint it yourself with them walking you through it. It's really neat. I just did a cross and it turned out awesome (I'm so not artistic either).
So, that's one suggestion.
I saw someone do this on another board but you can get a canvas, cut out the Nebraska logo to the size you want and paint it. Let me see if I can find the picture so you can see it....

I always make gifts for Dh. he's a sentimental guy, it means so muck to him. I recently made an apron for DH- he went crazy over it and wears it every time we fire up the grill! poke around on Pinterest, I'm sure you'll find some inspiration.

This site might help you figure out an idea- at the top under categories there is a section for "gifts for guys."
I like the pottery idea- maybe even do a party platter painted with his favorite team logo (if you guys have football parties weekly or something).
Does he have a box that keeps his watch, ring, and special little things? If not, go to hobby lobby and pick out one of their unfinished boxes and stain it yourself or paint it.
Did you say you have $50 to spend? That's a lot!
What about going to snapfish/mypublisher or scrapbooking yourself all the photos of both of you?
