We are putting an offer on a lot tomorrow and will be getting a survey. About how much do they cost?

Eeekkk!! That's a lot!!! Our lot is only 1.3 acres and looks fairly level. Our agent gave us the name/number to a couple survey companies to call.

survey with iron rods/stakes put in the ground?
We paid $1000 - called several surveyors and that was the rate. our property is about 8000 sf. the problem is that the original deeds went back to the civil war so there was a lot of research involved, and there were actually mistakes made in deed transfer throughout the generations - we ended up gaining some square footage. regardless i couldn't get it cheaper anywhere else so... it is what it is. :
