paycheck stubs. etc for mortgage approval

when we need to submit paycheck stubs and bank statements, etc, will they take digital copies of all of this?  My husband and I only receive electronic paystubs and we just print them.  will this usually be sufficient?  same with our banks, we receive everything online.

Re: paycheck stubs. etc for mortgage approval

  • Yes, my lender accepted electronic copies.  The only thing is I had to take my bank account statements into the branch to have the teller write the bank name and my account number on the statement.  I get my bank statements online and they do not print the whole account number on them for security reasons.
  • Depends on what your underwriter is asking for - my loan officer was able to receive everything electronically or fax but we also had to submit things by printout in case they had questions. If you have everything electronic, I would make a folder and subfolders for each thing and creative a zip file so it's easy to find. The underwriter will ask you so many questions and nitpick if they see something that may look unusual (such as a large deposit other than your paycheck).

  • Digital copies is fine.

  • You should check with your lender. Mine actually would *not* accept electronic copies, only originals. I had to have my employer send them a letter stating my salary.

Mine was the same. I tried to send him a paystub I printed from our employee online file and he would not accept it unless HR signed it. I had a hard copy paystub that I took instead.

  • Mine wanted the actual pay stubs, before he sent our app to the underwriter.
  • Mine did, they just asked that the web address be visible if it was from an online system.
  • We do not accept something in email/printout format. If this is all the borrower can provide, we ask for it to be signed by payroll.. or we fax for a full verification with income breakdown, instead of calling and just doing a verbal verification of employment.

  • We turned in electronic copies for almost everything and had no issues.
