Knives Sharpened?

Kind of a random question - but has anyone ever taken their knives anywhere to be professionally sharpened? I would love to have my Wustof knives sharpened somewhere, but I can't seem to find any place that does that type of thing anymore.

i'm in dc but there is a butcher shop at eastern market that we use once/year. maybe there would be something similar at reading terminal. or you could call around to local butchers, they would have the equipment so i am sure they would do it for you (for $$ of course)

I think I just saw that Williams Sonoma in KoP is having a knife-sharpening event sometime soon (if it didn't already happen). I was there 2 weekends ago and saw the sign posted in the store window.

It might sound silly, but check out Joann's. They have times when someone will come in to sharpen scissors, and they do knives as well.

I just took my knives (also Wusthof) to a hardware store in Upper Darby. Check with your local hardware store, they would know (places usually do lawn mower blades too- hence the hardware connection). I have seen the JoAnne's ads in the store and I think Kitchen Kapers also does it, but the hardware store route was very cheap and very effective- watch your fingers though!
