Put in Bay questions

Hi ladies! DH and I are heading to Put in Bay for a 3 day weekend. We were there once before 8 years ago (our first trip ever away together) and are headed back for our 4 year anniversary :)

We're taking the ferry from Port Clinton and was wondering if there are any good lunch spots you could suggest?

Also any favorite restaurants on PIB. I can remember the Boardwalk was good, but any other suggestions would be great.

Lastly--we are staying at a B and B with some things to do, but any indoor activities you suggest? Thanks in advance for any input!

Re: Put in Bay questions

  • Boardwalk is always good, we've gone to the Boathouse many times. I hear Crescent Tavern is good and lots of people like Frosty's Pizza (only good to me after drinking!). There's Chicken Patio for something not "sit down" and Village Bakery has sandwiches I believe.

Activities - there's the antique car museum, chocolate cafe/history museum at South Bend Choc Co a short walk from downtown, wine tasting at Heineman Winery, Crystal Cave if you want to experience walking in a geode, or stroll through an art gallery or two. Don't forget about just sitting somewhere and drinking and chatting with the locals!

The wine festival is next weekend, I wish I could go!

  • restaurants - boardwalk has a nice casual/fine dining room upstairs, hooligan's irish tavern, mossbacks, the brewery, the boathouse.  they remodeled tony's garage over the spring and they have food there (place looks nice).

indoor activities - there's the butterfly house at the perry's caves(think it's like $7.50 to get in), there's the historical museum, and adventure bay has some indoor activities.

what b & b are you staying at?

  • Can I just say that I have lived in this area all my life....I have two family members who work for the jet express and I have never been to PIB in all my life....I am so wanting to go but being pregnant and on a boat didnt sound too appealing this summer....I guess I will just have to shoot for next year.

Now that I have rambled on about my lack of knowledge of PIB, I hope you have a great time!

Thanks so much for the suggestions ladies, that is awesome! We are staying at the Arbor Inn on Trenton. It does not look like a long distance--is it walkable into the main town area? I wish we would be there next weekend for the wine festival that would be great!
