My DH has a reversible name: his last name can be a first name his first name can be a last name. In fact, we got some junk mail from a realtor a couple of weeks ago addressed to Mr. & Mrs. DH First Name -- I assume they pulled the names off the tax records but didn't pay attention to the proper order. DH and I had a laugh about it.
Yesterday DH comes home and says "Guess what I found out today? There's a [DH last name][DH first name] now working at the shipyard." Yep, there is a person with DH's reversed name now working at the same facility...and DH is starting to get his mail. ![]()
I guess the moral of the story is, if you have a last name that's also a first name, it's better to give your child a first name that can't also be a last name.

hopefully the shipyard learns the importance of a comma when the LN is listed first.
that's strange.
I think you're vastly overestimating the intelligence and/or common sense of many of the shipyard employees.
Another example: someone signed DH up for a training class one day this week that was relevant to the job he left six months ago. But since he was signed up, he had to go. I can't make this stuff up.
