Let's get the gratitude going!
I am thankful for a clean house and the chance to celebrate my little guy turning 2 next week with family. Hooray!
Re: Ooh! Thankful Thursday
i am thankful that this temp gig doesn't suck.
i am thankful that two months from today, DH & i will kicking off our first proper vacation since 2009. barcelona, here we come!!
however, i am NOT thankful that i just spilled my large iced coffee in the office kitchen. especially since it splattered on the pants i'd just had dry cleaned. grrrr!
I am thankful that networks have backed off a bit on the reality crap TV and are giving us good, well-written TV. I was worried that sitcoms would be swallowed up by Big Brother 37 and Survivor: Detroit.
And I'm thankful for the man
and landscape
eyecandy that is Hawaii 5-0.
I gots two!
So excited to see ALL my "divas" this weekend (group of 6 girlfriends who all used to live in DC, now I'm the only one here) ... like a 3-night sleepover - planning on lots of yakking, wine, helping with the newest momma's 3-month-old, and more yakking.
I have an editing gig on #2 of a self-publishing friend's 13-book series. If this first one works out well, I'll have supplementary income for a decade!
I am sooooooo thankful for the girls weekend i'm having starting tomorrow (even though I have to get up at 4am to catch a flight) with my BFF in Boston!!!!!
I cannot wait. The last time we went on a trip that didn't include our BF/DH was when we went to Daytona Beach for spring break in 2002.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
Julie - I almost spit out my coffee over Survivor:Detroit. Thanks for the laugh
I'm thankful for coffee, as always. I'm thankful for morning hugs from DD and even more so now that I don't have to worry I'll end up with spit up on my off-white shirt minutes before I leave for work. I am thankful that the Sears guy should be coming on Saturday to fix our fridge - I've really missed having a working water dispenser (with filter).
I am thankful that I've got a whole weekend ahead of me, solo, to do nothing but home improvement and clean for my upcoming visit from my entire family - all of my brothers and sister and their families and my parents all in one place (my house - eek)...
I am thankful that DH is able to work in a visit to his family this week while he is on a work trip...without me...
Oooh, and I am thankful for the fact that my father has decided that he would like to send my mom & her two daughters (one of them is me!) on a trip next spring --- to Paris! Better get planning before he rescinds his offer.
My baby girl STTN for 2 nights in a row.
::doing the cabbage patch dance::
I feel like a new woman after having two full nights of sleep.
Oh, and I can't wait to watch Modern Family tonight (I DVR'd it).
I will make this somewhat AW-ish, I know, but I am thankful that I have a job I love, and am well-respected for, so that I get to go to Japan - tomorrow!!!!!
I am also thankful that my kids agreed to have a monthly family dinner. (Forced! Family! Fun!) It may be that from time to time their dad joins us, too (he sees them even less than I do), which oughta make for some interesting posts here.
And I am, of course, thankful that John is supportive of this -- between my vacation at the start of the month, then business trip to Chicago last week, then trip to Japan, I will only be home for 7 days in Sept. He's making sure the kids, dog, cat, and fish are all alive when I get back on 10/3 - that's all I really care about. (but hey, if he WANTS to mow the lawn, and vacuum, and change the sheets, I certainly won't stand in his way....)
"What is a week-end?"
I'm thankful that work is now not only paying for my cell phone, but buying me a new iPhone.
I'm thankful that after sucking it up for ages in this crappy cubicle, I'm finally being moved into a renovated window office, and bonus, it's on the 2nd floor, so I no longer have to wait ages for the elevator around here.
I'm thankful that H is finding his teaching gig engaging and stimulating, even though he is exhausted and has come home super late some nights. (Anyone who thinks teachers have it easy are full of it. He seriously stayed at school until 10pm the other night.)
I'm thankful we're finished traveling until the holidays. 4 out of the last 5 weekends I've been somewhere other than my house, and I'm ready just to be at home for a while.
I am thankful that my ILs sold their house, because when you turn a 5 bedroom into a 2 bedroom because of your closet extension and home gym, you really limit your buyers. Fingers crossed all goes well for Monday's closing.
Finally, I am thankful for the health of my friend's baby, who decided to make a grand appearance 5 weeks early, and that he only needed 3 days of phototherapy- no steroid shots or NICU time.
Stand up for something you believe in.
--I'm thankful my commute only took 45 minutes this morning instead of 90 minutes like yesterday.
--I'm thankful for how funny my kids are getting. Between the peekaboo show DD puts on using our curtains and the way DS jumps up and hugs and kisses me whenever I sing Ba Ba Black Sheep, they keep me laughing.
--I'm thankful today is Thursday and tomorrow is my day off.
I'm thankful I got that Whole Foods living social deal for free :-)
I'm thankful we tried some new, easy dinner options this week that we liked and will add to our rotation.
I'm thankful for fun plans this weekend and for my mom, who is willing to babysit just about any time AND store a bunch of our stuff at her house.
TTC #2: BFP 12/17/11, m/c 1/7/12 and D&C 1/12/12
baby blog/cooking blog

- that it's a quiet day at work
- that I get the house to myself for the next week which means I can watch my trashy reality shows in peace with a glass of wine. I really do need alone time every once in awhile.
- that even though I'm glad to get rid of him at times, that I do have a great husband.
- that my boss appreciates me and two of my co-workers and the work we do. she took us to Sou'wester at the Mandarin for lunch yesterday which was really nice.
AW alert - I am thankful that my work is sending me to Moscow next week (and it's not too cold yet!), and I am going to be able to take some annual leave and go to St. Petersburg. If anyone has been to either city and has any recommendations, let me know!
I am also thankful that our ant problem seems to have dissipated (many thanks for the Terro rec, Hey Jellisy!).
Baby248 - ETA 1/10/13
I'm thankful for the still pleasant temps we're having- still wearing my summer clothes, but now I'm pairing them with cardigans and more fall-looking accessories.
I'm thankful for the few people who have volunteered to help us move next weekend. If no one could help, I would have had to call my parents to come down from PA to help us. They helped us when we moved here 3 years ago, so I'm glad we can give them a break this time.
Planning Bio
I'm thankful that our friends are lettign us stay with them while we have to be out of our house for mold remediation.
I am thankful that my 2 week post D&C follow up went well yesterday and all test say there is nothing "wrong with me", and I can ttc again very soon.
I am thankful that I have 2 tastefully simple parties this weekend...I love this new part time gig/hobby that I have found, it gives me time to be social without a toddler and get paid for it:-)
I couldn't agree more!!
You are most welcome.
I'm thankful conference is over and that I will soon catch up on all the laundry and cleaning that needs to be done after two weeks of working 12-14 hour days. On a related note, I am really grateful for the great friends in my life who helped my DH preserve his sanity while taking care of 2 LOs on his own by dropping by to help take care of the kids or bringing over dinner so he didn't have to worry about a meal.
I'm thankful that there is a higher grade level position open in my office that I'm going to apply for that my supervisor pretty much told me is mine. I just got make the cert.
I'm thankful that we don't have to entertain anyone this weekend and we're not planning on doing much this weekend except relax.
Ooh I almost forgot! I'm thankful for the nice person at the Pentagon metro who helped me locate my breast pump. I'm a little annoyed I have to go all the way out to Hyattsville to pick it up but i'm happy it was found!

I'm thankful for the crockpot.
I'm also thankful for therapy.
And, finally, I'm thankful for living walking distance to 3 different coffee buying places for times when my husband breaks our coffee grinder, but doesn't tell me until he's leaving for work. (also, thankful for enough cc points to get a new grinder!)
