So, as I mentioned in my blog, on Tuesday night I submitted photos of Milo to a NYC modeling agency via email. They say on their website that they'll get back to me in a week IF they're interested - otherwise, nothing. Ok, fine.
And then I saw on their Facebook page today that they're having an open call for models this coming Sunday, September 25 (within the week waiting time), in NJ about 20 minutes from where I live. But on FB they say they want children 6 months and up (on the website it says 3 months +). Milo is only 5 months (plus a week). Not to mention that he's a preemie (not sure if this matters though).
Do we take Milo to the open call on Sunday (if I haven't heard from them)? I can see it going either way; a) I'm industrious for having them meet him in person, or I'm b) not following the rules because he's not old enough (but will be probably by time anything would come of it all).
ETA: I don't want to be pushy, but I don't want to be stupid either. And on one level it would probably be a good idea to scope out the scene too, see if it's a culture we're actually interested in joining.
Upfh, gotta go get M from day care... look forward to your thoughts!

Re: WWYD?
I agree with this completely. It might be helpful for you to meet some people in this agency and get a feel for it. Also, I'm sure it would be great for them to meet him and see what a calm, pleasant demeanor he has. That's VERY important. Go for it, I don't think that it's pushy to go at all!!!
I think you should take him. The worst that could happen is that they say "he's not old enough." It's not pushy at all. If the website says 3 months there's no harm in trying it out. When they ask his age say "I saw online that it was 3 months and older," and see what they say from there.
If I was a judge he'd win.
Thanks you guys! Yeah, I was leaning towards going, and even DH said it couldn't hurt. As you said, the worst that could happen is they tell us to go away. But, hopefully they won't.
I wonder how much of a madhouse it will be. Hopefully it'll be cool and not a Toddlers & Tiaras scene!

I'm certainly not a pro in the baby modeling world (or either world individually), but it seems to me that they don't usually care how old the model actually IS, it's more how they look. KWIM? So if he could pass for 6ish months, I really don't think they'd care.
Disclaimer: I have no idea if this is true, and I just realllllly want Milo to be a model so all the world can see how stinkin cute he is!
Thanks Rachel!! Yeah, maybe you're right, good point. The only caveat I can see is if at this young of an age it may be about maturity. But, we'll see; I'm gonna go check it out. Hopefully the line's not too long!
