The camp Rodgers and I met at has offered him a job for until we leave for Kenya. They don't pay much (actually his paycheck will be less than it is now), but one benefit is free housing! They asked us to list our expenses, if we didn't have to pay rent or utilities. Then, they checked their budget and told us that they can pay him that much. My income was going to rent and daycare 100%, so without those expenses, I don't have to get a job!! I get to SAH. ![]()
So we're moving next month. The apartment they have for us is furnished, so in the next few weeks, I'll be listing all our furniture (and more) on craigslist. At least we won't have as much stuff to move.
Re: Good news :)
That is GREAT news!
It will be so easy getting ready for the move without having to worry about all that furniture to sell before leaving!!

That's awesome Rachel! Yay!
That is freaking awesome!!! I'm so jealous. Is this just until you guys move? I didn't know you had a definite date yet?
*Ignore my first question. Reading comp fail. But I still didn't know you had a move date. When is that?
The Sand in My Snow Boots
We don't have a definite move date, more a range: Jan-Mar (ish). We'll move to camp the last week of Oct and can stay until we leave, as late as May.
Bonus: my sister lives less than a mile away! How did I forget to mention that in the OP? Because of the fire, my parents will be staying with her on weekends instead of with my grandparents (probably in a travel trailer since my sister and BIL have hookups outside their house), so we'll all be neighbors. Rodgers will work normal business hours (he's been working 3-11) and have weekends off (his current days off are Sun/Mon). He will be home for lunch every day because we live on-site. This is like a win-win-win-win.
I'm late on this one, but what fantastic news!!
I'm so happy for you! What kind of camp is it?
It's a Christian retreat center. They have 5-day camps back to back for children and teenagers all summer long. The camp provides facilities, food, cleanup, climbing wall, ropes course, recreation. The groups bring their own speakers, musicians, and counselors.
This time of year they usually only have guests on weekends, and they are usually adult groups, but it's the same kind of arrangement. You can also just rent a room as an individual when it's not summer.
I'll post the website on our FB group. I'm a little leery of putting it here since we'll be living there...
