  • It's probably soaked into the padding and will need to be replaced all the way down.

  • Have you tried Nature's Miracle to clean it? If you're just using 'carpet cleaner' then the smell and attraction is still there. Nature's Miracle is an enzymatic cleaner that will eradicate any lingering smell.

You can find it at most pet stores.

  • Thank you for the suggestions - I'll try anything at this point!

This! We had problems with our cat peeing on things when we first started living together (cat was a little territorial). I used this to get the odors out the surfaces he used on, so that he wouldn't go back to them. I also took the cat to the vet and they gave him amitriptyline to calm him down and to stop the inappropriate peeing. Both worked wonders!

  • It's impossible to get rid of the scent of cat urine.  Once a cat has gone somewhere, that area of your carpet is pretty much doomed; he or she will continue to go there.  It doesn't matter how many times you clean it or what you clean it with.  I would suggest completely replacing that area of your carpet.  Sorry.
