My week just keeps getting worse. Jim went to the doctor this morning for his cold/sinus infection and they found some sort of heart rhythm thing. He's really bad at conveying the important information and couldn't tell me exactly what the doctor said or much of anything else. He did send him to LabCorp to check his thyroid, so maybe that's it and it's an easy fix, or maybe it's not even related. The doctor referred him to a cardiologist next week.
I don't even know what to Google, so I can't try to put my mind at ease or anything else. I guess I'll just worry about everything until Thursday.
Update: Jim called the doctor back because I was so upset. He said that he has lone a-fib, which has no underlying cause on an EKG (which they apparently did this morning) and shows up in someone under 60. He also said it probably would be gone when we go to the cardiologist next week and that he doesn't have to do anything different in the meantime. He just made the referral as a precaution and not to worry. I'm still going with him, but I feel much better.

Bio, now with married pics...
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Oh Reba - big hugs.
I'm so sorry, I am praying that it turns out to be NBD and nothing serious.

*hugs* I hope this turns out to be just a little scare.
And I vote you treat Jim like a 5 year old and attend all future appointments for your ease of mind.
Oh Reba, lots of hugs coming your way.
And:
Agreed. I've gone with my H before (at his request). I've never had to ask a question, though, because just being there is enough to get him to ask (I guess he knows I will ask if he doesn't).

Good! And, it's probably better you don't know what to google--you'd drive yourself nuts in the meantime. Lots more hugs headed your way.
I hope it's nothing. I'll be praying for him.
And I really wish I could come visit and just give you a huge hug. You are such an amazing woman and I wish you didn't have to go through all of this. I say you guys need to take your cruise out of Jax so you can visit.
Aw man, that's super stupid. You hear that universe? It's time to let up with the crap!
I hope it's easily fixable! I'll be thinking of you guys.

Hopefully it turns out to be nothing. If it were something major, I'm sure they would have sent him to the ER right away.
With the cold, has he been taking the OTC sinus meds? He might want to hold off for now in case that is causing the problem. Some people are really sensitive to them.
Same. You're in my thoughts and I hope it turns out to be nothing. Sending you lots of love.

Reba, big hugs! You poor thing! For what it's worth, both of my in-laws have a-fib, manage it closely, and don't have any huge problems other than a few doctors appointments a year. It's still a stressful pill for you to have to swallow, but they've both dealt with it for years. Hopefully the doctors find it was just a fluke, but if not, at least they caught it! Thoughts and prayers for you and Jim.
