Update, just in case you're interested :)

I've posted a few times lately, so I thought I'd just do a quick update in case anyone cares...haha.

DH and I are going to be renting a home that is for sale in our hometown.  It's a beautiful house and we are getting a great deal on the rent (we know the family who owns it.)  I'm really excited, but also scared that it's going to sell too quickly.  Guess that's just the sacrifice we have to make in this situation, but if it stays on the market long enough I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we might be able to buy it.  If anyone else has had a similar experience please chime in with what happened in your situation!  Thanks.

Re: Update, just in case you're interested :)

  • I'm currently renting a home that was for sale when we signed a lease. The owner took it off the market for the period of our lease. He just informed us that he's putting it up for short sale but will continue to honor our lease. We want out anyhow, since we're buying a house.
Could you do a rent to own with them?

  • We're not signing a lease, so that kind of stinks, but also has its merits.

We have discussed rent to own with them, but neither party knows much about it so we're going to do some research before we talk more.  I don't know if it would make sense for us or not.
