I fully expect to get flamed from DH's family for my recent post about having to attend a wedding tomorrow... a football Saturday. I am missing the opportunity to go to the Michigan State/Central Michigan game because of DH's cousin's wedding, which happens to be over an hour drive away.
The only thing I am looking forward to is the mother-of-the-bride. She's a loony bin so it should be quite entertaining to see her freaking out over little things.
Oh, and it's a "Detroit" themed wedding with the Old English D on everything. Including the bridemaids' and bride's dress. All of the girls had to purchase these ugly orange pumas to go with their midnight blue evening-gown style bridesmaid dresses. ![]()
I'd still much rather be at the game. Grr.

I hope it turns out better than you are expecting. Maybe just for the entertainment value, if for nothing else.
Me too!
These were my first thoughts as well! Can you sneak a little hand held tv in to get your football fix? haha
Dude, I get so irked by weddings during football season. It's so selfish of me, but it happens. One of my good friend's from HS got married last year on HOMECOMING weekend. She went to Mizzou...you may remember me biitching about it then, ha. Needless to say - we didn't go.
One of my BM's is getting married in a couple of weeks. Mizzou is away, but not too far away so we may make the trip. I RSVPed saying no because we would be out of state...may not be a complete lie. We may be in Kansas.
So yeah, I get your frustration but at least you will have some entertainment.
It's no secret that I love the D and I love our Tigers, but for serious? This made me gag. Please post pictures of this hot mess.
It's kind of known that people take their college football seriously in certain places. We were all smart June brides
I feel for you though. That really sucks. We had a friend do this last year and the groom had to turn the tv on in another room during the reception or it would've wiped out half the guests.
Some people in my office flat out refuse to attend events if people have stuff on Tech game days, like their grandkids weddings lol. Some people have even scheduled their surgeries around it.
Also orange sneaker they had to purchase?! I need to see this.
You know what's funny? I didn't know until like two years ago that College football was on Saturday and Pro always on Sunday. No idea - just......none. So, I may have had a well intentioned Fall wedding on a Saturday and been none-the-wiser that I was pissing people off!
Hope the entertainment value makes up for it KK. Can you follow along on your phone, maybe?
Didn't know that till now. hmm. the more you know.

Don't hate. LOL.
I don't hate! I'm used to it now lol. I've actually grown to like college football and I look forward to watching Tech play. You would be so proud.
I figured it out pretty quickly that they play on Saturday the second I first got on the interstate on a game day... traffic backed up, flags blowing out of cars, everyone in town is wearing college shirts as you're walking around shopping or running errands.
Luker here, but I am a fellow June '08-er. This ought to make you super excited (please detect sarcasm.)
My BFF, who was a sorority sister, my MoH and I'll be her's as well... she just attended a wedding of another sorority sister's wedding. It was UofM themed. Everything was Blue and Maze.
BMs had Navy dresses with a Maze-ish colored sash. (Oh and we didn't go to UofM, but we are from Michigan.)
I saw pictures, and it looked a little... interesting... to me.

You're trying to get KK to puke, aren't you. I know this will work! lol

My reaction as well. I am no fan of UofM, that is for darn sure.
