Slow cooker beef or pork recipes please!!

Anyone have a good recipe to share? Looking to make something this sunday for my sister and friend who are coming over to help me paint the bathroom and hang out for the day. TIA!! Speaking of recipes... I totally dropped the ball on the cookbook but have decided to make it my project for the winter. I still have all the appetizer recipes that were sent to me but if anyone wants to add any feel free to email me at eshick427 at yahoo.com. Then as soon as I get that all done I will move to the next category!

Re: Slow cooker beef or pork recipes please!!

  • I love making a roast in the crockpot. I just get a big hunk of roast (not sure what the actual name of the cut is?!?), put it in a crockpot, top with onions, baby carrots and potatoes (peeled and cubed), and then I top with Lipton's Onion Soup (the dry kind, mixed with 2 cups of water). Then I add enouch water to completely cover the meat so it stays tender. I cook on low for 4-6 hours.

Here's a recipe for pork that I got from Alicia and it's DELICIOUS!!! And perfect for fall:

HONEY & APPLE CIDER GLAZED ROAST PORK

    3 pounds boneless pork roast

    salt & pepper

6 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (I used 4 large apples)

    1 t  ginger

    3 T  brown sugar

    ? cup apple cider

    ? cup honey

    ? cup molasses

    1 T  Dijon mustard (I used a bit more)

Trim roast well, then rub with salt & pepper.  Combine apple cider, brown sugar, and ginger.  Place the apples and roast in slow cooker and cover with cider mixture.  Cook on high 3-4 hours or on low 6-8 hours.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Remove roast from slow cooker and place in roasting pan.

Mix honey, molasses, and mustard together and spread over roast.

Place in oven and cook for 45 minutes.

Slice and serve with hot apples on the side.  (We served with rice and green beans).

  • I put ribs in the crockpot, with a bottle of bbq sauce, and cook on low for about 6 hours.

I also love plain old pork roast and saurkraut in the crock pot.

Oh and Tuesday I made ham and green beans with potatoes in the crock pot.

Cook a beef roast (rump or chuck) with salt and pepper, and a cup of water in the crock pot...about 6 hours.  Here's a recipe for half of the roast....

    Beef Stroganoff:
Take half the roast and cut it in cubes.
    Toss in a skillet with:
1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 can of mushrooms
about a cup of sour cream
    4 tablespoons of cream cheese
    about 1/2 cup milk
a couple splashes of Worcestershire Sauce
    Salt and Pepper

Once everything is cooked together, toss it over either cooked egg noodles or bow-tie pasta.  Serve with buttered bread.  Smile

    1. Cut the pork into cubes (~2 inches square) and brown in a skillet. After all sides have been browned, transfer to slow cooker

    2. Chop the onion and mince the garlic and add to skillet. Brown until tender. Add to slow cooker.

    3. Pour entire bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce into the slow cooker and stir contents.

    4. Cook on high for about 6 hours. Pull pork apart with a fork and keep warm until ready to serve. Serve on hamburger or bulkie rolls.

  • I also make pulled pork. I kinda do my own thing but this is what I do:

We buy a 1lb pork loin and cut it in half (since it is just for the two of us, we freeze one and cook the other) .  I get one bottle/can on root beer and pour it over the meat. I cook it on low for about 6-6.5 hours. When I get home from work I take the meat out and shred it. I pour out the root beer and put the meat back in. About an hour before dinner time I pour BBQ sauce over the pork. Then serve! We can get 3 sandwiches out of a 1/2lb of meat.

  • Give me your email address and I will send you pages of awesome crockpot recipes!

    Ryan loves my roast...

    Shoulder Roast

    One can of Beef Broth

I package of Italian and Ranch dressing mix

Wash Roast, sprinkle tex joy and S/P on it and press it into the roast.

(be easy on the tex joy)

Pour broth into CP and then add the Italian and Ranch packets to it and stir. ( I save a little of each to sprinkle on top of the Roast)

Cook on Low atleast 8 -10 hours.

When you are done add a little flour to the broth to thicken it up. Serve over Rice..

    Yummy!!!
