Happy Friday! And first day of Fall!

Can you believe it's fall? Ugh. How did this happen??

DH isn't home from Thailand until tomorrow late afternoon, and then it is his best friend's birthday so we're supposed to be meeting them for dinner at 7pm and going to the bar at 9pm. DH will have been traveling for 36 hours or so (his plane took off this morning- our time), so we'll so how long we're able to join in.

Sunday we have another open house. Fingers crossed!

Oh, and this week I learned that Captain Morgan and Orange Juice is a surprisingly delicious combination.

How was your week? What are your weekend plans?

Re: Happy Friday! And first day of Fall!

  • Oh and I should add that I am ridiculously excited to have all of my TV shows back this week. Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family... It's not normal how happy I am.

I use the fact that DH travels a lot as justification for watching so much tv (because, truthfully, I'm usually sitting at home alone after 8pm every night), but I still probably watch too much.

FWIW, the last few weeks I have been reading instead. I finished the Hunger Games and am now halfway through book 1 of Game of Thrones (which I insist on reading before I watch the show Embarrassed)

  • TGIF!

Last night was the first night I've been able to watch TV all week and I was so excited to see Grey's Anatomy was on!  Confession: I'm such a sap, I cried during the show.  I have to figure out what was on the rest of this week so I can find the shows online.

Tonight we might hang out with another couple.  Hopefully I won't be passed out on the couch at 8:30 again Stick out tongue (though I am feeling kind of tired this morning).  Nothing planned for tomorrow.  Sunday I'm going to visit with my family during the day and then DH and I have dinner reservations at Oishii.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Mmmmm, CM and OJ...

Week was stressful, and weekend will be more of the same. I have a freelance project with unreasonable requests from the client, trying to get the little stuff out of our apt before the movers come Monday, trying to dig a path through the boxes in the new house, and, oh yeah, taking care of a toddler.

    Bring on October. Please.

  • I wish it was a nicer first day of fall.

I'm supposed to be going to my friends' postseason baseball game tonight, but that's iffy due to potential rain. If not I'll be making cookies for my cousin's bday party Sunday.

Tomorrow we're meeting some of my college friends for lunch. It is homecoming weekend, but I wonder if a bunch of things to be rained out. My class is having our 5 year reunion at the restaurant by school but they wanted $15 for apps from 3-5pm with a cash bar. Um, no. But maybe we'll see people around campus. My cousin goes to college up the street so we're going to visit her.

  • Friday, woot!  Good luck with the open house LadyE :)

No exciting plans for me this weekend.  Might do the ol' wardrobe switcheroo for the season change (yay, fall!).  Sunday I'm off to NYC to attend a conference Monday & Tuesday.  It'll be good to go back to my 2nd home (I lived in NYC from 2005-2009).

  • Happy Friday!! .... Good luck with the open house Lady!

Very busy weekend ahead of me! Tomorrow is the Phantom Gourmet Festival in Boston, we have tickets and are ready for some food and fun. Hopefully FI doesn't change his mind about going if it starts to downpour. Although, I might change my mind if it's a tropical storm out. My best friend and MOH in my upcoming wedding is coming into town tomorrow afternoon as well, and we have plans to get together after the festival. Then Sunday is my bridal shower. I am very excited for waffles and cake!! The presents are just an added bonus.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  • I was also ridiculously excited for the return of new TV.  My husband travels a lot too so my DVR is my typical 'date' on week nights.  I was really scraping the bottom of the barrel this summer for shows at night.

I am dreading the rain this weekend although it will give me the opportunity to switch of DS's closet which is LONG overdue.  There are just piles of clothes all over his room.

Otherwise, I think I'll cook some fall comfort food!  My waistline won't appreciate it but I do love fall/winter cooking.

Any ideas for activities for a baby on rainy days (besides the children's museum...we already did that this week!)?

  • Well this weekend I am hubs free since he is going to his annual golf tournament in Maine.  So a bunch of my girlfriends are coming over and we are going apple picking tomorrow and they will sleep over.  Sunday will be football day, as usual = )

  • You probably figured this out by now, LadyE, but 30 Rock isn't back until  January this year. They said it was because of Tina Fey's pregnancy.  Booo!!

Anyway, we are taking the dog to the groomers in a bit, and then running some errands and going to see The Help this afternoon. Tomorrow, I think we're going to go up to RedHook for lunch, and then I may scoot up to Kittery to pick up some boots my husband talked me out of at Wrentham yesterday. (He was convinced I'd get a better deal online, but no luck.)  Sunday, I'm going to do some shopping - I could use some new work clothes, and I totally struck out at the outlets yesterday.

  •  Happy Friday everyone! Grey's was great last night. I'm so happy its back!

Tonight I'm going to a Jack & Jill for a while, and then tomorrow H and I and H's parents are going to an engagement party in Maine. Sunday, if the rain holds out, I really want to go apple picking with H and get some mums and all that good fall stuff. If it rains, I'll probably do some cleaning. We'll see!

Good luck with the open house LadyE!

  • No real plans this weekend. I'm meeting up with a friend for a bite to eat tonight and just catching up. Honestly, I'm more excited about vegging out on the couch and watching Grey's! Tomorrow we're going to go get DH a new truck and then possibly doing something with another couple in the evening. It'll mainly be a football watching weekend which is a-ok with me!

I should probably do some cleaning/organizing/switching of clothes too.

Have you tried looking at any of the Nordstrom Racks in the area?  I've had good luck at the one in Natick the last few times I've been there, especially in the shoe department but also with a suit jacket, earrings, etc.

I went to the Natick one a while back, but was underwhelmed. But I'll give either it or the Burlington one (depending on where I end up) a shot. Thanks!

    Crying

I watched Community, P&R and the Office before going to bed last night, so I've been catching up on the DVR this afternoon.

I'm kind of glad they're waiting though. At the end of last season, Liz and Jenna were both visibly pregnant and it was getting distracting.

There's also Nordstrom itself, of course, and they now offer free shipping on orders of any size...something my wallet probably didn't need to know.  Oh, and there's a promo through American Airlines right now where you get 10 miles per dollar spent or something like that and today is the last day.  I can forward you the email if you want it.

  • My parents are here! Last night we went out for sushi/hibachi. Today my mom and I went to get pedicures and then went shopping (Chicos for her, BR for me, Ulta for both of us) then I cooked dinner for all of us, then went to a painting class and painted a portrait of SIL's dog as her Christmas gift. I just got home, it took me over 4 hours to do.

Tomorrow we are going to brunch, then DH has to go to DC for a work trip. I'm not sure what is on the agenda for the rest of us.  I did buy DS a lion halloween costume and want to all dress up as a theme for the parade, but I insist, if I am Dorothy, that I find a slutty Dorothy costume. I mean, it's the least I can require.
