Closed Yesterday!!!
Timeline-
Found the house July 20th and went to see it, fell in love
July 21st put in an offer, they had two other offers but ours came in first. Someone convinced them to take ours but not until after their weekend open house, longest weekend of my life!
July 26th start working out contract details
August 15th- in Contract!!- had to have the house appraised twice because the first time was before Hurricane Irene.
September 15th- Mortgage approved
September 22nd- CLOSED!!
The closing was rather stressful we got a call about 2 hours before about the amount of the checks, I swear it felt like a drug deal! We headed to the banks (we have our money at a credit union and regular bank.) The first credit union was closed and we had to go to another one, huge scramble. Oh and School taxes came due and we had to bring an extra 3K to closing...I almost threw up when I found out!! We showed up late 
In the end the lawyers and title company were so happy because they said it had been so long since they did a "normal" closing with all the short sales and foreclosures. The seller cried about signing over the house which was sad.
I am SOOOO excited, we went and had take out dinner standing up at teh counter in the Kitchen just to have our first meal there
