Closing Today!

Our closing is at 9am and we have to leave our in-law's house by 8:30 in order to get there in time. As of 6am, we were still "a go" for that time with no complications. *fingers crossed* So far, everything is in order. We already have the cashier's check made out for the correct amount and the separate check written for the contents of the house (we bought an As-Is).

I sort of feet like running around screaming right now, I have so much energy! I could not be more excited for today! I just want everything to go smoothly and to finally start making our house a home!!

Wish us luck! Thank you so much for all of your support during our house hunt and closing. You girls were always so helpful in answering all of my questions.

Re: Closing Today!

  • Congrats!!  (Newbie here, just popped on to see what this board was)

What is 'as-is' when you buy a house? What does that include?  We've seen a few of them in our search, but never looked because we always thought "this must be a crappy house if they're saying 'as-is' and won't make any repairs".  Which I realize may have been dumb on our part, but fortunately they weren't in the town we really wanted.

An 'As-Is' condition house means what you see is what you get! The seller will not made any modifications to the property and it will be sold in the present condition. This can always change at the seller's discretion. The house we're in escrow on is an 'as-'is' condition house but the seller's agent asked our agent the copy of the inspection and the red flag items. We're assuming that he's willing to fix items that NEED IMMEDIATE ACTION so he can actually sell the house. I hope this helps!!
