Super far west bars

We're talking Elkhorn and Gretna and in between.  I'm having a friend in town this weekend, we want to hang on a patio and drink and not pick up dudes (ie. I don't need the latest hip place to hang out, I'm old).

Suggestions?  Good food would be a plus.   I tend to love dive/small town bars, but I guess I want my friend to have a better impression of Omaha so cute and trendy maybe?

Ok.....Go!

ps.  What is Prestige now?  Does anyone know if it's open?

Re: Super far west bars

  • I went to 3 Fine Irish Men over the summer and that was a decent bar. It had a nice patio that we hung out on all night. And I think they have bands play there a lot.

Other than that I only know midtown/downtown bars.

  • Kona Grill at Village Point or Blue out at Legacy.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • Brix at VP if you want wine.
Tied the knot: 6.19.04 Mommy to 3 awesome kids: Maren 3/06, Tommy 12/07 amd Kolbe 8/09
  • This is my hood:)  2 Fine Irishmen is fun but it gets REALLY crowded on the weekends these days, they even have a line sometimes...no fun!

Rum Runner is a cute quiet bar out on 180th and Harrison with a nice patio- no food though

There are two small town-ish dive bars on Main St. in Gretna- cheap food and drinks-nothing fancy-but fun!

I also LOVE Baby Blue at Legacy.  DH and I love to sit at the bar for their late night happy hour, it's ALOT more chill than the other locations and has a nice patio.

  • Rum Runner on 180th and Harrison - small bar, they just started serving food but never had it so don't know how good it is.  Decent patio area.

Skyybox Bar and Grill on 168th and Harrison - servers decent food.  Has patio area.

    Lazlo's on 192nd and Center

Upstream on 170th and Center (not sure if they have an outdoor area??)

Clancy's Pub on 168th and Center

I forgot about Lazlo's on 192nd and Center.  I love to sit on their patio, eat Lahvosh and have some drinks!  YUM!

  • We really like Jack's in Elkhorn....total dive bar, but fun and good pizza.

  • I just saw an article in the paper about Oscar's on 170th and Center too.  Awesome pizza and wings there too.
  • Ditto to Waterfall, 2 Fine Irishmen, and Skybox.

Rum Runner gets a little weird, depending on the crowd.

  • I should follow up my Rum Runner comment, we live right by it and it is just random.  Sometimes busy, sometimes no one there.  The older owner is a little weird, won't have TV's on, radio, etc.

Good to know.  I don't care too much about the game, but I do need it on in the background.  Sheesh, it's Nebraska.

And now I'm contemplating 2 Fine Irishmen for afternoon drinks, Lazlo's for dinner, then a Legacy bar later.  It might get messy.

    Thanks everyone!

ps. I'm keeping Jack's on my list for another time for sure.
