Whitney *Disclaimer for potential spoilers*
Did anyone watch? I only watched because DH mentioned it. After the opening scenes I told him I thought the laugh track was annoying and he said it was taped in front of a live studio audience, which the show then went on to mention at the first commercial break. I think my favorite character is actually the drunk blonde friend.

I also thought it was trying too hard, but the scene with all the paperwork was hialrious! His expressions were priceless and spot on.
I usually just lurk here, but this bolded part is word-for-word what happened in my house last night! It was like they were cutting the laughing short or something?? It annoyed me.
My favorite part - when she made him fill out all the forms!
Guess it's just the two of us!
Me three but I think Whitney is funny in general. I laughed out loud several times and there's very few shows that make me laught like that.
i dont understand the point in using a live studio audience if you are going to make them sound like a laugh track. normal people do not laugh like that, nor do they laugh that often.
my vote goes in the "annoying" camp.
Just got around to watching on DVR.... the funniest parts for me were delivered by people other than Whitney and even then they weren't really LOL funny.
I also agree that some parts would have been funnier had I not already seen them in the trailer and constant commercials.
As for the "laugh track"... it's so weird how they do that even though there is a live audience. I went to a show and before it started taping they recorded us doing a variety of (fake) responses- soft laugh, heavy laugh, serious expressions, etc. (It was a talk show.) So we knew that they would use those bits when the show was edited and the people in tv land would not really know when we laughed and how hard or for how long, etc.
