S/O Uverse question

Do you have to have a receiver for all your tvs or just the ones you want to play back DVR'd items on?

I'm trying to figure out if I wanted to add a tv, say to the extra bedroom for guests but don't want to pay $7 a month for a receiver since it the tv will rarely be used, if you can just plug it into the cable and play basic channels like regular cable.

I'll be calling them next week to set up install and I'll ask them, I was just curious in advance.

Thanks!

(P.S.  I think it is awesome you can set stuff up via your phone...although I doubt they have a Blackberry app for it.)

Re: S/O Uverse question

  • We had a smaller box for our bedroom tv. I think you have to have it, but I'm not sure. (we moved and no longer have uverse :(

  • We have the main receiver on the main TV, and a smaller one on the secondary TV, but almost never use it, so thinking of scrapping the 2nd box.

  • We actaully had a receiver that was good for up to 3 TVs.  One box with multiple signals.  We didn't even have a box on our main TV because there wasn't a jack there.  I think it depends on the distance between the TVs.  I  would call and set up an appointment NOW.  The wait is usually over a week.  I think closer to 2 weeks...
  • We have a reciever for every tv in our house.
  • We have 1 box per tv.
