Activities for 1 year old in Wakefield, RI area....
Can anyone recommend activities in Wakefield, RI area for 1 year old other then story time?
Re: Activities for 1 year old in Wakefield, RI area....
I'm not sure how easy these different places would be to get to, so I'm throwing different ideas out there for you.
What about a kindermusik class? A quick google search found a place in North Kingstown, Sing With B Music -- http://www.singwithb.com/
Quite a few moms have recommended the classes at Bellani in Warwick -- http://www.bellanimaternity.com/schedule
Gymboree offers classes as well -- http://www.gymboreeclasses.com/calendar.do?fCode=253&sCode=548&mode=calendar
Perhaps look into an Itsy Bitsy Yoga class -- http://www.itsybitsyyoga.com/classes/itsybitsyyogateachersri.htm
Other gym parent/child classes may be worth checking out as well, like this one -- http://www.thelittlegym.com/CranstonRI/Pages/parent-child.aspx
Or perhaps, maybe you could join a mom's group -- http://moms-of-toddlers-infants.meetup.com/cities/us/ri/narragansett/
I think The Guild has some open play times (http://www.southkingstownri.com/files/Fall%20Brochure%202009.pdf) this fall that might be okay for a 1 yo.
Pow!Science at the Wakefield Mall (http://www.powscience.com/store/newstore.html) has a play area in the back. It is geared to slightly older kids, but I'm sure it could be fun for a 1 yo too. It's a nice rainy day place to go and DD likes just running in the hallway at the mall.
South Kingstown has lots of parks (http://www.southkingstownri.com/town-government/municipal-departments/recreation/facilities-overview/directions) and of course there are all the beaches. We haven't explored the beaches much, but we have been to lots of parks.
I'm new to the area myself, so I am just learning my way around, but these are some of the things we've enjoyed so far.
You can check out Macaroni Kid for Washington County to find lots of listings. Have fun!

It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!
My pregnancy after Infertility Blog
Our baby girl was born on April 27, 2011!
My sister lives in Peacedale, I'll have to ask her what she'd recommend. Her daughter is 13 months and they go to storytime... I wonder if you've crossed paths...
They do love POW Science and I know they spend a lot of time at the beach, on the bike path, and at the playground.
