Nebraska Childrens Home Society

Can you tell me your experiences with them? We just requested info, are there any other agencies you would recommend? I believe NCHS is the only "free" agency in the state. I'd love to hear your adoption stories in Nebraska!! thanks

  • My Aunt is the CEO of the Child Savings institute so I always feel the need to plug them! They are a great organization!

  • We are considering working with them. The only downside being that we have only been married 2 years, so we still have another year to go before we can even apply. I have heard really good things though.

  • We have good friends of ours that adopted from there. When I asked them about it they had nothing but great things to say. If you'd like to contact her to ask questions, I know she'd be really willing to give you her opinion/advice/answers. They're son just turned 2 and they got him just a couple weeks after he was born. PM if you're interested.

  • We're wrapping up our homestudy with them right now and should be in the pool of waiting couples in the next few weeks.  We've had a very good experience with them so far, and know several families who have adopted one or more of their children through NCHS.  We interviewed 2 other agencies before NCHS, and not only is cost a big consideration, but the culture/ethics of NCHS felt WAY better to us.  Their attitude toward openness, the way they treat birth families, the fact that they will counsel all members of the adoption circle for life, the required education on the adoptive family's part, etc.  We got a very genuine feel for them.

  • We adopted our son last December from NCHS and will be applying for our second adoption in May. We couldn't have been happier. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
