I LOVE Dubai
We got in late, because no plane can ever be on time arriving into or departing from Turkmenistan. Our bags came immediately, we walked right into a cab, got to the hotel and our room wasn't ready yet. We didn't mind since we planned on hitting the mall anyway. Anyway, they upgraded us and we went to the mall where in FH's words, we "dominated" it. We had to buy a hiking backpack, a variety of other stuff for the Nepal trip, a purse for me, lingerie for the honeymoon, look at ties for the guys, etc.
Not only did we get all of that done in a few hours, we were able to have lunch at a place that served salads without mayo (really, this is rare in Tstan) and walk up to my favorite salon and make appointments for stuff, plus get some awesome macarons. All in all, it was a good day.
When we returned to the hotel they show us into our suite. It is AWESOME. We have a balcony, view of Dubai fountain and the Burj Khalifa and it's a 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath, 800 square feet room! This is bigger than our apartment in NY!! For less than 300 dollars.
The only problem is that now I wish we didn't have to leave for the airport at 7am. I wish we had another day here.
