Hey everyone..I'm a SLP in a skilled nursing/rehab facility in central florida. We just found out that our rehab director will be leaving for a job closer to home (she commutes pretty far every day). My area manager and rehab director approached me about taking over the position, which I think I'm up for.
My question relates to salary expectations. I've done some searching for average salary expectations but am still not sure what I should expect. We meet to talk about the details early next week, so I want an idea of what to negotiate to. So any therapists move into a rehab director position? What percentage increase from your therapist salary did you get?
Thanks!!
Re: Any rehab directors out there?
it sounds like a good opportunity-but I caution you. I'm in HR in healthcare and with the medicare reduction to SNF's and the changes in group therapy starting next month- I don't think its a good time to take on the that role. Not sure if you work for a for profit SNF or NP SNF. If you do consider it find out the strategic direction of therapy at your location

DOE you can make anywhere from 65-90k in DC area. Good luck!
