An engagement party is taking place tomorrow for my tenants who invited us to share in their celebration. He is nice and hangs out with us - he's become pretty good friends with H. She never hangs out and I've been dissed a few times when I've asked her to do something. So, she and I have not become good friends. What do we get them for a gift?? I really don't want to get them money. Partially because the biiaatch never talks to me and because I don't think that people I've only know for 1.5 years warrants a cash present after getting engaged. Thoughts??

    Something small - bottle of wine with some wine glass charms. A group of kitchen utensils tied with two dish rags, a serving dish (like white). I'd hit up Marshalls or TJ Maxx.

    I think a bottle of wine sounds good too... maybe like a $15-20 bottle... Coppola is a good one.  I honestly don't understand engagement parties lol

    I agree with a bottle of wine.  Also a very nice congratulatory card.  I am not a fan of engagement parties since it is just another event where people are expected to shell out money for a couple getting married.  You already have a shower and the wedding.  Why should people have to get you another expensive gift?  I understand wanting to celebrate an engagement, but just let it be that, a celebration.  Not a gift giving event. /rant

    Thanks ladies. I ended up getting them a gift card to target. We shopped a bit and didn't find anything and we were running out of time so that was that. They don't drink wine either. The party was nice and we had a nice time.
