Can any ladies in NL help a preggo IN out?
I am looking to stock up on these post labor goodies and can't figure out where to get them. I've checked out Etos, Hema, Kruidtvat, the Chinese import store and the Tuinen but no luck. I've also checked online at Boots, Amazon, Drugstore.com, but none will ship "medical" stuff to NL. Here's what I'm looking for....if you know where I can locate these, please let me know!! (Yes, it's a list of very unsexy stuff, sorry -they are supposed to make life easier after giving birth.)

I'm guessing that this sort of stuff you will have to pick up at an actual Dutch pharmacy. I know if I was looking for similar stuff in Switzerland I wouldn't find it in those stores either but would find it at the pharmacy.

Yeah, I dunno about the NL but they only gave me one of those things in the UK and only two in the US. I got colace, or something similar in both countries. In the UK they just gave me a little cup to use instead of the peri bottle, they seemed to have never heard of it when I asked about it.The witch hazel and epsom salts were things I already had at home in the US but didn't have or think to use in the UK. Though they wouldn't have provided those in the US I don't think.
I agree that I would get the translation for those items and then go into the pharmacy. And a tiny little plastic cup that you can fill with warm water will work just as well as the peri bottle, though isn't quite as convenient. The hospital had a bidet, though, which was lovely after giving birth! Good luck!
Yeah, other than the giant bag of drugs I went home with we took everything we needed to the hospital in the UK. Including toilet paper - that one wasn't 100% necessary but the stuff they had was bad news considering the two hour surgical repair I needed. Pillows, diapers, pads, the mesh underwear. You buy all that yourself there. It was a nice change to be able to go to the hospital with virtually NOTHING this time around. The big bill at the end wasn't that fun, though.
I am going for the hospital birth. I actually was thinking about home birth, but my Dutch DH talked me out of it. We are about 10-15 min. from the hospital so if something were to go wrong it's just too much of a risk. I am going all natural and look forward to the kramzorgster coming to help afterward. Even with a hospital birth, they said we go home 2 hours post birth if all goes well. Here's hoping!!
