i am starting to understand...

...why people cover their furniture. i just put a new cover on my ikea couch and promptly covered it with blankets (it's not the kind of cover that can be easily removed and washed, it took me three hours to install). i covered it with the blankets because my h comes home from the construction sites he works at and is filthy. then he promptly sits down. eventually our solid colored navy couch had a mark across the bottom cushion and back right where he sits. i am also wanting to replace our carpeting to our basement and i want to cover it with plastic! i hate vacuuming stairs and they quickly look like the outdoors. i'm done fighting this cleaning battle!

  • hate cleaning!!

  • Is there any way you could suggest to him that he take a quick shower when he comes home from work?  Or at the very least, change clothes?  I'm trying to figure out a wording that he wouldn't take personally, and I'm drawing a blank.  That sounds like an awful lot of extra work to keep the house clean.
  • I understand.  We realllllly need new living room furniture but we're waiting because of the cat.  And if we have a cat when we do buy new furniture, it'll be covered up except when we have company over.

naw... he gets up at 330 every day and works really hard. if he wants to sit down for a bit when he gets home i don't want to ask him not to.
