those that have started thinking about Christmas

what are some things you have on your list to get others (especially the toddlers)?!

i thought that *maybe* i'd get a head start on things but have no idea what to get Oliver or anyone else!

Re: those that have started thinking about Christmas

  • I have no idea! MIL insists that we have a list to her by Oct. 15 as they are coming back mid-November and want to bring presents with them. That also means that anything we want to get for MIL or sFIL need to be purchased by mid-November. Ugh.

Only 90 days (or so) until Black Friday.

  • Here's G's so far: Doll furniture, sing along CDs, mega blocks, tubs of plastic animals, wooden puzzles. That's it for now! Once upon a child has great wooden puzzles for cheap. I'm interested to see what others have on their list

  • Our list for Lyla so far includes a play kitchen (which I intend on making), a strider bike, and maybe a swing set.... do you think dave will let me get her a puppy?

  • Reese is getting a waldorf doll, hopefully a bamboletta. They're really hard to get, so I'm not positive about that one. Grier is getting some clothes and small toys. Both are getting tiny TOMS. We did Christmas with my mom over labor day. They got pjs, 2 outfits each. Grier got a swing and Reese got a shopping cart. They got a little folding table to share. I'm sure I'm missing something....

  • One thing we're getting for the boys is a wagon for next year, since they will both be big enough to sit up in one and then we have options besides the double stroller when we go places.

We definitely don't need ANY MORE TOYS so I'll probably also ask for clothes, especially winter play gear for the older boy since he's grown out of his snow pants and coat from last year and he will definitely want to be playing outside in the snow and sledding.

We also have a ton of books, but we also have a VReader so I might ask for some new catridges for that, they take up a lot less space than traditional books.

  • I got Nicholas and his cousin (3mos older) both starter Duplo sets for Christmas last year. Big hit. Does Oliver have any train sets yet? Nicholas just has a small Thomas the Train Trackmaster set and I eventually bought some an expansion pack of tracks to go with it. He just sets his up on the (wood) floor.
  • Neena is getting a play kitchen and some accessories to go with it, a cleaning kit, silk scarves, and a play farmhouse.  This is for Christmas and her birthday.

  • I've already gotten El a play kitchen, I think my mom is going to get her some food to go with it. I think we'll finally give her her Pillow Pet, and I think I want to get her some more wooden puzzels FYI- Gordman's has REALLY nice wooden puzzel sets for $10?

My parents have a blue ray player, so I thought of getting them some blue ray moies. And probably a gift card to Red Lobster or something along those lines.

Since my sister is in Germany, we'll probably just send over  few little things for her, BIL and my nephews. My nephews like everything SO that'll be easy, probably just some IOWA gear and they'll be way happy.

As for my in-laws, we don't really do much for them, as they ask us not to. My SIL, maybe a few new shirts and sweats, as those are her favorite! Nephews-IL, Walmart GC's they're at that age where they want to get stuff on their own, one is 13 the other will be 19 OY! and is in college.
