Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie

am I the only one that is over this?

I read all the books over a year ago and then we watched the foreign film (sorry, forget the country) soon after that.  When I heard the movie was coming in English, I was interested but that was over a year ago.  Now I am bored and doubt I will go out of my way to watch it.

Re: Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie

  • I have already read the first two books and I'm halfway through the last one. I also saw all 3 of the foreign films, I think they are Swedish??..

I'm actually kind of excited for the English versions of these. I hope they don't change much of the actual story line.

  • nope, I'm super stoked to see these. I ordered the second book in the series from Europe because I didn't want to wait for it to come out in the US. I'm pretty much obsessed with the series. And Daniel Craig starring doesn't hurt either, love him. Rooney Mara looks absolutely incredible as Lisbeth in the trailers I've seen.
  • I think an English version is a little overkill.

The Swedish versions were good and I doubt the American versions will be much better.

Although Lisbeth should have been cast by a shorter person, so I hope they do that in the American version.

  • I'm about a third of the way through the last book and I'd like to see the Swedish versions when I'm done. I heard they were pretty good and followed the story line well.

  • H and I saw the preview this weekend while watching Money Ball.  It was a really well done preview, even H said ooh is that the weird book you were reading we should see it.  I have finished all three books (the second was my favorite) but have not see the swedish movies.   We will definitely see it when it comes out.
  • I loved the books but haven't seen the Swedish version of the movie so I'm excited to watch the new movie version when it comes out.

  • Read all three books, saw all three Swede movies, am a little hesitant about how the American version of GWTDG will be.  I'm afraid they'll alter it or butcher it but definately will go and see it.

  • I'm super excited. I think Steve Zaillian is an awesome screenwriter so I'm interested to see his adaptation.
  • I watch everything David Fincher does.
  • The swedish movies were wonderful so i am sure i will be comparing them incessantly, but i hope they stack up.

I would actually probably be more entertained with some changes. I found myself bored in the Swedish movies because I knew what was going to happen.  It was more of a "oh that is interesting how they did that" instead of a "whats going to happen?" Maybe I saw the movies too close to the book.

  • I tried to read the book and just couldn't get into it. I'm looking forward to the movie. Like PP, I'll watch anything David Fincher.

It took me like 100 pages to get into the first book. SO boring at first.

I loved the books, and somehow only managed to see the first and third movies, but I really liked them. It didn't bother me to have the subtitles, and maybe it helped that I knew the story.  I'm mixed on my feelings for the movies in English. I will see them, for sure, but I get what you guys mean by not going out of your way to see them, as I have read and seen them already.
