If you were going to have THREE kids in diapers... yikes... what would your stash look like?
Right now we have about 24(?) OS pocket diapers. We plan to use disposables for at least the first 2 months without a doubt... so keeping that in mind, what would you buy new for the twins?
Re: CD Moms
Going through that many dipes (assuming average of 6 per day for each kid), you're pretty much going to have to be willing to do diaper laundry every day. Otherwise, the loads would be too big, and the stink would be out of control!
So, with that said, I would probably just build up the OS stash (maybe 36 of them total, so you have enough for two days?) and call it a day.
If you're looking for a more cost-effective solution and to be able to stretch laundry a bit more, I would consider adding a good amount of pre-folds/covers.

wow 3 in diapers. Hmm.
I would still stick with pockets or aio. I like how snaps last long, but for fast many diaper changes would debate about more velcro
I love my blueberry, so would probably look into those since I don't have many. I would also stock http://www.kellyscloset.com/ to try to get as many free diapers as possible. I love the idea of the freestyle (and the prints!). I like threemonkeys cloth diapers ( a NH wahm that custom makes diapers and free shipping).
For that many in diapers, I would also look at flip or grovia, where I could just replace the insert, not have to stuff.

Well, it depends on the kid, and your routine, I suppose. By the time we started using the OS pockets with Nora (~10 weeks old) she was STTN. So we were changing her roughly every 3 hours during the day (4-5 dipes) + 1 overnight diaper = max of 6 diapers a day.
6 x 3 = 18 dipes per day. If you had 36, you'd still have another 18 dipes to get you through the following day while the others are washing/drying. Then repeat the next night.
If you felt that you needed a few more to pad the supply, maybe up yourself to 40?
Expensive up front, yes. But think of the HEAPS of disposables you will be going through with three babies! Eeek!
AND if you start to prepare now, you could buy like 1-2 dipes a month and build up your stash gradually.
ETA: I am a little jealous you get to buy more diapers, because I *LOVE* the new BG colors! I want!

Some cheaper options I have seen from lurking on the CD board are Kawaii pocket diapers and Sunbaby pocket diapers. The Kawaiis are around $10 I think.. some a little more, some a little less and the Sunbaby CDs you can get 12 for $60. I'm going to try both. I figure that even if I hate them, it's not a huge investment and if I love them, they are great, cheap additions to my current OS stash (so far I have 12 BGs, 6 FBs, and 2 Blueberries).

Ok, I think you've convinced me. I just bought a box of disposables for N because we are traveling this weekend and remembering the prices kind of gave me anxiety, lol. Buying a couple a month would definitely be the way to go.
And, thanks Colleen, I'm going to check those out!
