morning girls. rachel, i loved your africa pics! and stephanie, i drooled at your trip pics as well. and debdeb, hawaii looked great! so fun! sorry you are allh back at work ![]()
after my conference last week and being sick, i tried to recover all weekend. slept, relaxed, cleaned, cooked, ran, had our last wedding of the season. returned the dogs to my parents.
was still sick and had a horrible last long run. instead of 12.5 miles i did 6.5 really slow miles. it was horrible. i think i will do a total of 25-30 miles this week to make up for it.
and in other awful news: my car is STILL broken (going on 3 weeks without it now) and on our way to return my mom's car to her (we were going to survive with just one car, gerren's truck, for a few days) GERREN's TRUCK BROKE DOWN. his isn't major, just needs new breaks, but still, we are now down to zero cars, and zero dollars to pay to get our cars back. oh happy day. ETA: just got a call that it is going to cost another $600 for my car. Total for my car is now over $1500.
here is to a speedy workweek, lots of good runs, an unexpected million dollars, and getting my car back. and losing some weight. and good weather. humph.
Re: manic monday
So sorry about your car issues and expenses. They are totally killer. Both of ours need inspections and tune ups this week. Ugh.
I hate being back at work. More vacation please. We had an utterly fabulous time, and booked a 7 day cruise for next year while we were on ours. So there's something to look forward to.
I'm looking forward to a speedy work week, getting back on track with exercise and good eating, and a winning lottery ticket.
FUN! totally jealous!

Ugh sorry about the car troubles and expenses. I need to get my car tuned up...hit the 50,000 miles mark and some light came on saying low tire pressure
Agree with you about the fabulous pics everyone posted on FB. I'm super jealous!
I slept like crap last night. It was so hot and muggy in the house. I finally got up and went to living room to watch a movie and finally fell asleep around 2. Woke up at 7 for my dentist appt at 8 (thank goodness it's close to the house). I got two shots and squeezed my eyes shut like a tiny lil baby bc I hate, HATE shots. $100 later and my little cavity is filled. Money sucking dentists and I can't feel the left side of my mouth. Speech therapy is impossible this morning. I'm giving my kiddos busy work. I'm terrible.
We are thoroughly enjoying our new tv. We bought and gave ourselves an early christmas present, a blu-ray that was on clearance, that's also smart. However, it's smarter than me (us) because I don't know how to get the stupid wireless working on it.
That completely sucks. I'm sorry!!!!
hey ladies!
It is a rainy gloomy monday here and would have been a perfect day to stay in bed. Weekend was ok.
Saturday I got up and went grocery shopping. Had a mild pregnancy breakdown. I'm still getting used to the increase in the retirement and healthcare benefits that our jerkface governor inflicted. (NOTE- I'm ok with paying more!!) However, I'm not getting used to it coming out of 1 paycheck rather than spread out. I generally get paid 2 times a month (bi-weekly). The first check of the month usually goes towards paying mid-month bills, etc. The last check goes towards rent and the first of the month bills. Well, all the retirement and healthcare benefits comes out of the last check now and it sucks. So I got paid last week, but with the increased costs, it's about $400 less than what I was used to getting up until August. Hormones got the best of me and I had a breakdown with josh. We each pay half the rent, but then he has the bills he pays each month, and I have the bills i pay. With the increase in healthcare, things like groceries have had to go on the credit cards b/c the rest of my money goes towards regular bills. So our credit cards are getting higher, and I feel like I'm barely getting by with the things I need to pay. He was sweet and said that that's what he's there for is to help out and it's not like I have to do it all on my own. Guess he's a keeper after all.
Other than that, we watched a lot of football this weekend, hung out, had quality alone time which was great for celebrating the big anniversary.
On the plus side, our top tier was still yummy!!! So this hormonal, crying, pregnant woman was happy to eat a big piece of cake yesterday!
Good morning! We had a busy weekend and are spending today cleaning up the house from the last week of baking and driveway construction.
For our anniversary we visited the town we got married in. I got my favorite coffee drink at their coffee shop, walked the docks, visited a couple apple orchards, visited our wedding site (see fb for pics), and had dinner at the restaurant that did our wedding catering. DH got me an ipod nano and 3 hours worth of massage certificates, yay!
Today the concrete for our driveway will finally be poured. Only 5 days behind schedule thanks to a rainy end of the week last week.
Our cake was still good too. We didn't know what flavor it was, but we ended up with a coconut cake with chocolate fudge filling.
Ours was yummy too!
Waaaaah. I am so tired I can't even muster up the energy to get out of my chair and make coffee. Shauni - really sorry about the car problems, I've been there. I honestly don't know what we would have done if we hadn't inherited a car, we were so screwed...wish I could offer you some advice :-/ I hope things work out!!
This weekend we went catfish fishing. It was awesome and we caught some huge catfish, but my arms are still sore and I have an ouchy bruised spot on my belly where I was resting the pole. I also got a little sunburnt and have a few small blisters on my nose, which is really surprising considering I was only a little pink! Regardless, it took its toll on me and I still haven't recovered fully. But it was worth it. Today my boss is OOT, my other co-worker is off, and everyone else is in other buildings on campus so I'm bored and alone. I might actually take a nap at my desk.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
Good morning. The weekend was very busy. The party consumed my entire weekend. The anniversary party yesterday was fantastic. Everyone complimented me on the decor, enchiladas and banana cupcakes. It was so cute seeing my grandparents together. My grandpa is so funny because he keept kissing my grandma. They are so cute after 60 years.
Tonight I have my volunteer meeting and then hitting the gym.
Morning! Had a training I gave Friday morning, then picked up the ILs from the airport since I was already 10 min away, and took the afternoon off. They are so nice, but also exhausting. We told them I'd pick them up, so why are they calling me before my training is over? I told you when it ends, so it doesn't really matter that your plane landed 10 min early. Grr.
Drove to Sonoma Friday night, and my BFF threw us a baby shower on Saturday. It was super fun, despite the stress and worry that led up to it with my sister. She handled invites and RSVPs, and wasn't really keeping my friend updated with who was coming. More people made it than I knew were going to come, which was a very nice surprise.
We came back home Saturday evening, and dropped the ILs off at an airport hotel last night since they flew out really early this morning. All in all, it was a nice visit, I'm just having a hard time dealing with MIL lately. She's obviously very jeaous that my parents live close by (~1.5 hrs) and they are across the country, and is being not very nice to my mother, who is really trying to be nice, and just generally acting like a martyr. As in, repeatedly asking if they will get a phone call when I go into labor. Look, lady, I offered to have you guys come out and stay at our house around my due date so you could try to be here for the birth, and you said no, so quit acting like we're just going to call you 2 weeks after he's born.
Andplusalso she asked me on shower day where we'd be at 4:00. Um, not sure. (We had the shower then a wine/art festival as the plan.) She says that H's niece (she and SIL live with the ILs) wants us to FaceTime with her, because she was so sad that she couldn't come out for the shower. SIGH. Why is she obligating us to do this? It's very rude. Niece can wait until Sunday when we're home. Grr.
Leo, is this cupping with plastic cups that he moves around, or like the glass ones that they put on your back and keep in one place for a bit? My reflexologist does the former, and it feels so good and I love that it's getting the toxins out. My first visit with her, most of my back was purple for days afterward.
dup
That's about it! I only got the marks the first few times she did it, or if she just leaves the cup in one place for a while.
