BF - anyone else use a cooler for pumped milk?
So I am using the cooler that came with my pump in style plus a lunch cooler. My thought is what if some of that milk freezes, or worse freezes then thaws. I plan to of course freeze this milk and draw from my stash of older milk for her daily bottles and now I am wondering about the transfer from bottles to bags.
Am I overthinking this? Should I just use the bags you can pump into and be done with it even though they really don't give the best measurement? I was going to be using them due to space for my last pump of the workday anyway.
Hmmmmmm
Re: BF - anyone else use a cooler for pumped milk?
AH! I understand your confusion. Here's what I did once I figured it out (because I was carrying an S-load of stuff): I used the same 2 bottles for the 3 pumpings I did at work. So in the cooler thing, set the ice pack up in the middle, put two bottles on one side and then stack the bags on the other side. Then in the main bag push the cooler to one side and then put your pump parts in a plastic bag (I lined it with paper towels) and stick them in the big bag (the space left after the cooler is back in there).
Does that make sense?
I waaaas only putting only the milk in the cooler and then in the bag and keeping the bottles and parts in another bag - too much stuff to carry.
Makes perfect sense!!!!! That is exactly what I am going to do.
I can't believe I was stressing over the milk freezing. LOL I also brought and extra cooler with me lunch in the morning milk in the afternoon. :P
