Do you own rain boots?

We're about to get another round of rain this week, and I'm seriously contemplating buying some rain boots.

I'm tired of having wet feet after walking home.

Anyway, I own a pair of awesome, oiled leather motorcycle boots that I bought from jcrew last year, and they're really repellent, but I don't want to destroy them, you know?

I really like the look of Hunter's coloured boots... but the price tag... not so much. Are they worthwhile? Is there another brand worth investigating?

Re: Do you own rain boots?

  • I'm no help, this reminds me I need to start looking for a pair of snow boots though :(
  • I own a super cute pair of rain boots, and to be honest, I wish I had worn them to work today.  I have no idea what brand they are though.  I found them in a shop near my house for $15.  Unless you are planning on using the rain boots as snow boots (which I don't do), I would find a pair that is cute and cheap.  While the Hunters are probably super warm and comfy, mine cheapies do the trick just fine.

  • I got mine from Target for like $15, they work well, but I couldn't wear them in winter :).

  • Another owner of cheapo rain boots. The pair that I have (couldn't tell you the brand) gets the job done. They're not the most comfortable since I walk about three miles every day, though. What about Keen? I think their rain boots get good reviews.

  • I have a pair of Hunters. They definitely keep your feet dry but they're rather heavy and clunky (I always seem to wear the boots on days when it doesn't end up raining).

  • I also rock the Target cheap rain boots. They do the job, and there's some fleece inserts for when the weather gets cooler. I think those are another $12 or something.

  • No help here.  I do have a pair of rubber boots from Lands End that I wear in the snow.

  • I have a pair of Hunters. They work well for me because I can wear them in the summer when it rains and add in the liner when it gets cooler outside. I wanted a heavy-duty pair of rain boots that I could wear in case it rained all morning while sitting outside for the farmer's market. I also have very small feet and was able to buy a children's size to save some money.
  • I have a pair of cheap rain boots that I love from target! They work great for me, but I live in Mississippi so we don't get much snow just rain.

ditto!  I wear a size 7 in womens and go away with a child's size 4.  I think if you are an 8 you may fit in the 5s.    I like the kids bc the adults are too big in the calves for me, but I wish they were 2" taller.

  • Children's sizes?!? That's brilliant. I wear a size 7, so that might be totally feasible!

I wish we had Target here NOW (I know we're getting them next year) - it always seems like people are raving about the stuff there.
